FIT FACTS: The Benefits of Hanging

Sometimes the simplest exercises can be incredibly effective!

Hanging from a bar might look basic, but it can be a great way to build grip strength, shoulder stability, upper body strength, and body awareness, while also challenging your core and encouraging healthy movement through the shoulders.

And we’re seeing some pretty impressive proof of that right here at Towne Fitness. 👏

These aren’t just impressive numbers they’re the result of consistency, practice, and challenging yourself to do something you couldn’t do before.

We Did It!

Pilates Summer Garden Series 2026… We surpassed our goal! 💚

What an incredible way to close out our 3rd Annual Pilates Summer Garden Series.

Our final evening was absolutely fabulous. The weather was summer perfect, the setting was beautiful, the energy was incredible, and most importantly, our hearts were full.

We had a wonderful turnout for our grand finale, including five new friends who joined us for the first time to support the Headwaters Health Care Foundation.

And together, we did something pretty amazing…

✨ $4,215 RAISED!

That came from 39 generous participants and supporters, including:

🤍 24 donations of $150 = $3,600
🤍 18 additional donations = $615
🌿 GRAND TOTAL = $4,215

Every single contribution helped us surpass our fundraising goal, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

WE’RE JUMPING FOR JOY!

We’re just ONE day away from the Grand Finale of our 3rd Annual Pilates Summer Garden Series, happening tomorrow Wednesday, August 26th!

What started as five beautiful evenings of movement, community, and exploring some truly incredible local gardens has brought us so much joy and we’re not quite ready for it to be over!!

But there’s one more evening to celebrate!

This Wednesday, we’ll gather for one final Pilates practice, surrounded by nature, followed by refreshments and plenty of time to enjoy our beautiful final location.

And there’s another reason we’re jumping for joy…

💚 We are SO close to reaching our fundraising goal!

Thanks to everyone who has joined us, donated, shared, and supported this special series, 100% of the proceeds go directly to the Headwaters Health Care Foundation.

Pilates Summer Garden Series | #4

Another beautiful evening, another garden we won’t soon forget. ✨

Our 4th Pilates Summer Garden Series took us to the stunning home of Dana MacAuley and Martin Kouprie, affectionately known as “Watercress Pond.”

From the cutting garden and pool to the beautiful grounds, pond, and home, there was something to discover around every corner. The evening was filled with little surprises, beautiful surroundings, and plenty of time to wander, explore, connect, and simply enjoy being outside together.

It was fun from start to finish and once again, we were reminded of how special this series has become!!

A huge thank you to Dana and Martin for opening their beautiful home and grounds to us and for being such gracious hosts.

And just like that… we’ve reached our final Garden Series evening of the summer, the grand finale is next Wednesday, August 26th!

One more garden. One more evening. One more chance to gather, move, and celebrate summer together.

We can’t wait. See you all there!

Always Learning. Always Evolving.

Last weekend, Jeff and I headed to Toronto for CanFitPro 2026 / Global Conference & Trade Show, and what a weekend it was!

One of the best parts of attending a conference like this is having so much knowledge, experience, and innovation gathered under one roof. This year’s workshops definitely did not disappoint.

A few of the highlights:

💪 Stronger Together: From Endurance Athlete to World’s Strongest Man
Mitchell Hooper shared his incredible journey from marathon runner to World’s Strongest Man, reminding us that transformation is rarely about individual effort alone. A humble and seriously inspiring story.

🧬 Peptide Stacking: Designing Smarter Protocols for Longevity & Performance
Kashif Khan dove into one of the hottest topics in health and performance right now. An incredibly interesting presentation that sparked plenty of conversation and questions.

🩻 Programming Around Pain: Making Training the Medicine
Dr. Justin Farnsworth challenged the way we think about pain, using knee, shoulder, and back pain as examples. Rather than seeing pain as a diagnosis that brings training to a stop, we explored how thoughtful, intelligent programming can become part of the solution: helping people keep moving forward instead of getting stuck in “rehab purgatory.”

🦴 Unravel the Mystery That Is the Shoulder
This one was especially fun! A hands on 3D anatomy lab with Brian Richey of Balanced Body, Anatomy & Movement, where we actually used modelling clay to build the major muscles of the shoulder. Seeing how everything works together to create efficient, injury-free movement was fascinating.

We’re always looking for ways to learn more, challenge what we think we know, and bring new knowledge back to our Towne Fitness community.

Because fitness is constantly evolving and there’s always more to learn. 🤍
