When a rider hears a faint rattle from a fender or rear rack, the first instinct is often to grab an allen key and tighten that bolt as hard as possible.
It feels like tighter means safer.

Most frame eyelets are made of soft aluminum, and the mounting bolts are small M5 hardware. Cranking them down with brute force can strip the internal threads or snap the bolt head off completely. What started as a small rattle turns into drilling out a broken bolt or tapping new threads into the frame.

The proper fix does not require heavy force:

A dab of blue medium strength threadlocker such as Loctite 242 on the threads

Snug the bolt to spec, around 4 to 6 Nm

The threadlocker keeps road vibrations from loosening the bolt, and the aluminum threads on your frame stay intact.

If you ever hear a rattle and want a second set of eyes on it, drop by the shop.

Right behind our shop is a 1KM winding test trail that transitions from asphalt to grass, dirt, and trees.

Fall is here.

As temperatures drop and local paths get damp and slick, having a properly tuned ride is what keeps you upright and stopping safely.

An e-bike shipped in an internet box leaves factory assembly and safety adjustments to chance. In our shop, every bike we sell or service goes through a thorough inspection before it rolls out the door.

Our standard checklist for every build and fall tune-up:

✔️Steering checked and aligned
✔️Brakes tested and adjusted
✔️Drivetrain calibrated and l**ed
✔️Wheels trued
✔️Tires inflated
✔️Electrical system checked

Earlier this year we held e-bike operation classes in the shop.

Now that fall is near, we are bringing workshops back with a new focus.

Preparing your e-bike for fall riding and winter storage. A 30 minutes, in-store, hands-on session.

What we will cover:

✅ Cold weather riding prep including tires, brakes, and how battery range changes in the cold

✅ Why pressure washing and car washes destroy your motor and what to do instead

✅ Proper winter storage including keeping your battery indoors at 50 to 70
percent charge

✅ Chain l**e and maintenance for motor torque wear

✅ Your questions, answered in person
