A friend planted a seed for a “Paint a horse” type of event and I’m going with it! This was my painting of Lily I did at a similar event with friends a couple years ago.
We have such a picturesque setting and of course the most beautiful horses in the world and I can’t wait to host something like this.
Watch this space for details…

5 years ago today, Freya arrived and helped us launch Horse to Heart. In some ways it feels like just yesterday and in others like a lifetime. In that time, Lily has joined the herd and the 3 horses and I have so enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people.
We are about to start our next adventure with a move to Smithers where we can take our programming in some exciting new directions.
The thing I’m most looking forward to is having the horses at home. I’ll have the best view imaginable when I can see them out the window! Dreams do come true.
One day during an on-trail-lesson, a young rider of mine had asked if I’ve always loved horses and if I had horse posters in my room when I was her age. After l told her about the horses on our family farm and a brief history of horses in my life, she paused and said “And look at you now” Now you’re helping kids like me love horses just as much as you do. 🥰
I’ve watched so many of my lesson kiddos blossom in their self-confidence, leadership, self-awareness, critical thinking, problem solving, boundaries, and so many other things all whilst learning about the technical skills of caring for and riding horses.
It’s been such a wonderful “work” environment to have so many lovely families over the years and I will miss you all.
Cricket, Freya and Lily have received so much love, and brought so much laughter. Oh the stories we could all tell!
Goodbye is bittersweet. We will miss you all so very very much.

After 12 days being stuck on the property due to ice and dangerous trail conditions, we managed a short test walk out with 🐃🐂🦙 today.
They’re all a little stiff from lack of proper movement all this time and from having tense muscles trying not to slip with every step even in their pen at home.
The driveway was touch and go, the paved trail passable but likely to be very slippery once the sun went down and the arena and back trails unuseable at the moment.
I can’t believe we’re in for more snow/freezing rain as we’d really like to get back into our lesson routine.
