🏒 POSTGAME | REGALS 2 – ROYALS 8
Well… that was 40 minutes of hockey followed by 20 minutes of an unsupervised family reunion at a wedding with an open bar. 😂
The boys showed up to Grant Fuhr Arena with a short bench, a few missing brothers, and apparently an unlimited supply of penalty minutes.
For 40 minutes, we were in the fight. Wyatt Pennoyer buried his first of the season to get us rolling, and Jake Watt, making the most of his AP opportunity, picked up a hard working goal! Attaboy, kid! 👏
Down 4–2 heading into the third, we still had a hockey game.
Then the third period happened.
Four goals against, 28 shots surrendered, and enough trips to the penalty box that we’re considering installing a revolving door.
53 shots against. 8 goals surrendered. And a game sheet that reads like a police incident report. 🚨
Was it pretty? Nope.
Did the boys quit? Not a chance.
We came into this one missing a pile of regulars, and by the end of the night, we were practically taking attendance to see who was still eligible to sit on the bench.
But tonight was always about more than two points.
Some of our brothers were celebrating one of life’s biggest moments this Thanksgiving weekend. The rest were here battling for the crest, each other, and the guys who couldn’t be with us.
And somewhere between the goals, the gloves, and the misconducts, we were reminded that this group has a whole lot of fight in it.
Now we just need to remember we’re allowed to score goals while doing it. 😂
Congratulations again to Carson and his bride. ❤️
And to our boys, heads up. Regroup. Reload. We’ve got a season to play.
P.S. If anyone finds a few spare hockey players at Thanksgiving dinner, send them our way. Preferably ones who aren’t suspended. 🦃
⚔️ ONCE A REGAL. ALWAYS A BROTHER.
