Our new road - Sp’akw’us Landing will be open from the entrance to the site to the Park.
We will have accessible parking spots on the asphalt parking lot in front of the Presentation Centre and additional parking in the gravel lot down the ramp. Open to the public at 2pm - May 25th.

Oceanfront Park Construction Update
The highly anticipated District park will feature a water sports beach, recreation beach, large open green spaces, slacklines, public art installations, and trails linking the park to the surrounding community. “In addition to the park amenities, I think the most impressive is the ecological restoration of the site from its post-industrial contaminated state” adds Jessica Herman, Project Engineer for the Oceanfront Park.

April 2021: Oceanfront Squamish Temporary Road Construction Expect Alternating Traffic
Matthews West will commence upgrades to the temporary road which currently accesses Oceanfront Squamish in April 2021. Work includes upgrading the surface to ensure improved road condition and drivability.
With the Main Road Utilities Construction Project also commencing in April 2021, please pay close attention to all signage and any on-site personnel on the entirety of the Oceanfront Squamish site. The road will remain open for those needing to access the site throughout the three-week construction period however expect single lane alternating traffic.

April 2021: Matthews West announces the next phase of Oceanfront Squamish’s utility installation.
Main Road Utilities construction project will include the preload for the extension of the Oceanfront main road as well as the preload and ground densification for the Presentation Center/Public House. This project will also pull municipal utilities down the remainder of the main road to service future development.
Access to the Oceanfront will be affected in areas and trails adjacent to the construction. This map outlines the restricted areas for this construction project.
Matthews West has obtained all necessary Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada approvals and work will be overseen by a Qualified Environmental Professional at all times.
Enhanced safety precautions will be taken through increased signage and onsite security personnel. We strive to maintain as much access as is safely possible, however some access to the southern area of the Oceanfront peninsula will be closed starting beginning of April 2021 - and will remain closed for the duration of construction. This construction project is expected to last until the end of June 2021.
