Come practice with us — breath, posture, and gaze woven into one steady thread.
Become a member of Ashtanga Yoga Squamish, and find your place in a community rooted in parampara, teacher to student, held in the traditional Ashtanga lineage.
Beyond the mat, our monthly Satsanga is a doorway into reflection and connection, a gathering where we sit together, study the deeper layers of this practice, and share chai. One on one holistic coaching is here too, for those wanting more personal support along the way.
We would love to have you 🤍

Ashtanga is a way in — a practice of coming back home to the body. Back to the breath. Back to ourselves, again and again, slowly and quietly, until something starts to settle.
This is what we offer at the shala: a space to cultivate deep listening, self study, and to be held by community.
We offer one on one guidance within our group classes.
We offer a monthly Foundations Workshop.
If you’ve been wondering whether this practice is for you — reach out, come try it out. 📸 Carlos

Guided Classes 🤍 September brings some updates to our guided classes, in person and online.
Friday mornings return at 7am with a half Primary guided class, and Wednesday evenings continue as usual, at 5:30pm — both now available online as well, so you can join from wherever you are.
If you’re able to attend twice a week, a membership is the better value. For a more flexible practice, drop-in remains an option.
Sign up now to hold your spot for September. 📸 Carlos 🙌

Enrollment is open for Afternoon Afterschool Yoga & Mindfulness, ages 5–7.
Held every Wednesday at 3:45pm, this hour-long program offers children a mid-week pause — a chance to move, breathe, and settle into their bodies. Through creative arts and crafts, playful postures, breathing games, and simple stillness practices, kids build the tools to notice how they feel and find their way back to calm.
A gentle reset, right in the middle of a busy school week.
Starting September 16th. *for older kids who want to join us please email us.

In my early years of practice in Mysore, I was in awe of the hours of teaching. It took years to understand the real weight of it — not just the attention held in the room, but the steady presence that stays.
Behind every practice is a life given to build something that would never go away.
Sharath is no longer here, and I feel that absence like a missing beat in a rhythm long memorized by the body. But what he gave was never only presence in the Mysore room — it was a reminder of steadiness itself.
Sharmila, in Goa. Fiona, in Vancouver. Far in distance, near in everything that matters. What they offer is never only technique, but perspective — a way of carrying the mat into the rest of life.
This is what a teacher truly gives. Not justa practice, but something steady enough to outlast distance, and outlast even time.

Walk a path over and over, and the land remembers you.
Your brain works the same way.
The mind’s quiet talent for carving new grooves based on what we repeat. Ancient practices shared it.
Practice becomes firmly grounded when it’s cultivated for a long time, without interruption, and with sincere devotion.
Think of a river. Water doesn’t force its way through rock overnight. The same current, moving the same way, day after day — until stone gives way to riverbed. Once that channel is carved, the water just flows.
This is what happens on the mat. Every practice, every breath, every time you choose to show up — you’re carving the riverbed your mind will return to for years to come.
So it’s worth asking — What am I practicing?
Our practices shape us. Choose wisely. ❤️
