MUN Badminton Club is pleased to continue our Weekly Badminton Sessions for the Spring Semester 2026 (May to August) at The Works - Field House at Memorial University. Due to the ongoing maintenance at the Field House, the first session will start on May 31st, 2026 (Sunday).

Session Schedule:
• Every Sunday, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, from May 31 to June 29, 2026
• Every Sunday, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, from July 5 to August 30, 2026

Our weekly sessions are open to MUN Badminton Club members of all levels who are interested in staying active, improving their badminton skills, and meeting fellow badminton enthusiasts in the MUN community.

Club Membership Registration (For Spring Semester, May - August 2026)

• Free for MUN graduate students (sponsored by the Graduate Student Union)

Participants are reminded to bring their own rackets and shuttlecocks for play.

Please also note that participants must hold a valid The Works membership in addition to MUN Badminton Club membership. Individuals without membership will be required to pay the applicable entrance fee charged by The Works.

The MUN Badminton Club & Chinese Youth Association (CYA) Mixed Team Tournament 2026 was successfully held on April 19, 2026 (Sunday) at The Works - Field House, bringing together 6 teams and more than 30 players for a half day of competition.

The event featured exciting matches, strong teamwork, and a great atmosphere both on and off the court. It was encouraging to see participants enjoy the tournament and contribute to such a positive and engaging experience.

MUN Badminton Club and the Chinese Youth Association would like to sincerely thank all players and volunteers for their participation, support, and efforts in making this event a success.

We look forward to welcoming everyone again at our future events!

To allow more players to join the fun, we have officially extended the registration deadline to Thursday, April 16th at 12:00 PM (Noon)! Beginners are highly encouraged to join—don't worry about your skill level, there's a place for everyone to play and have a great time.

We would like to share an announcement from Badminton NL regarding an upcoming feather shuttle tournament scheduled for January 30-31, 2026 in St. John’s. This advance notice is intended to help players plan travel and prepare equipment in advance.

👥 Eligibility
• Open to adult players
• Junior players aged 16 and above are eligible
• Players under 16 may only enter with coach endorsement and tournament director approval

🪶 Important: Shuttlecock Policy
• This is a feather shuttle tournament
• NO shuttlecocks will be sold at the venue
• Players must purchase shuttles in advance
• Badminton NL does not stock shuttles for sale

If you need to order feather shuttles, please plan early. Orders through Badminton NL must be placed at least three (3) weeks prior to the tournament.

📅 Scheduling Note
Jan 30-31, 2026 (Fri-Sat)
Some matches may be scheduled on Friday evening to avoid late finishes on Saturday. Priority will be given to players with shorter travel distances.

Before entering the tournament, players must purchase or renew a Badminton NL membership (2025–26 season):
• First-time tournament players: Regional Membership – $10
• Players who have competed since August 1, 2025: Provincial Membership – $25
