After finishing 6th at the 2025 Canada Games in St. John’s, NFLD, the best result in PEI soccer history, this team has once again surpassed expectations and reached new heights on the national stage.
This week in Kamloops, BC, the girls played with determination and unity, defeating some of the strongest teams in the country to advance to the final match. This achievement is a historic milestone that reflects years of commitment, teamwork, and belief.
A group of U17 girls deeply connected beyond soccer, they bring something unique both on and off the field. Together, they create a strong fabric of young women, woven with trust, resilience, and pride. Their unity and spirit are a perfect reflection of the Island’s heart. 💚
The team’s journey to the gold medal game is the result of months of preparation, discipline, and sacrifice. From early-morning practices to long weekends on the road, the players have shown outstanding dedication and passion for the game. Coaches János Barna, Lauren Clark, Rachel Green, and Emily White have played a key role in guiding and inspiring this talented group, helping them compete with confidence and pride while representing Prince Edward Island on the national stage.
Beyond the scoreboard, this success embodies the spirit of Island soccer, heart, and belief that anything is possible. It serves as an inspiration for young players across PEI who dream of competing at the highest level.
The team will take the field on Monday at 5:30 p.m. PEI time for the Gold Medal Final, looking to make history once again and bring home a championship to Prince Edward Island.
No matter the outcome, this year’s performance has already cemented the team’s place in PEI sports history, proving once more that the smallest province truly does have the biggest heart. 💚⚽
