BEEN A BUSY AUGUST FOR BCB 🖤💛

The past month was a big one for Bridge City Barbell, with our athletes competing internationally at the 2026 North American Powerlifting Championships and right here at home at the Bridge City Classic.

🏆 NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

🥉 Tim Zelensky - 83 kg | Open
Squat: 240 kg
Bench: 180 kg
Deadlift: 310 kg (+2.5 kg)
Total: 730 kg

Tim put together a huge performance on the international stage, finishing 3rd overall in the 83 kg Open.

🥇 Rashenna Grzybowski - 84 kg | Open | Coach Danny
Squat: 200 kg (+4.5 kg)
Bench: 102.5 kg
Deadlift: 220 kg (+5 kg)
Total: 522.5 kg (+9.5 kg)

Rashenna came away as the North American Champion in the 84 kg Open, adding kilos across the board and putting together a massive day.

🏆 BRIDGE CITY CLASSIC

Janet Hills - 52kg | Masters 4 | Coach Danny
Squat: 82.5 kg (+5 kg)
Bench: 45 kg
Deadlift: 117.5 kg (+24.5 kg)
Total: 245kg (+26 kg)

Janet continued to prove that strength has no age limit, setting 5 Masters 4 Provincial Records along the way.

Doug Miller - Masters 4 | 105kg

Doug made his Bench-Only debut, finishing with a 117.5 kg bench press and setting a new Masters 4 Provincial Record.

Brandon Wiebe - 120 kg | Open | Coach Thomas
Squat: 192.5 kg (+10 kg)
Bench: 145 kg (+5 kg)
Deadlift: 227.5 kg (+10 kg)
Total: 565 kg (+25 kg)

A 25 kg total PR and improvements across all three lifts. Huge progress from Brandon.

Utkarsh Mandhotra - 66 kg | Open | Coach Tim
Squat: 195 kg
Bench: 115 kg
Deadlift: 220 kg
Total: 530 kg

Utkarsh stepped onto the platform for his first powerlifting meet and walked away with a 530 kg total in the 66 kg Open.

First-time competitors, provincial records, international podium! This is what we love about this sport.

We also have to give a shoutout to It made what is usually one of the most stressful parts of directing a meet incredibly painless, once we got past stressing the Wi-Fi 👀. The system was awesome and helped everything run smoothly throughout the day.
