Hi Everyone,

This is a final reminder that registration for St. John’s Curling Club’s 2026-27 member leagues closes tonight, September 10th, at 11:59 pm.

As outlined in our previous registration communication, teams must have a minimum of three (3) team members officially registered by the deadline in order to secure a spot in a league. Teams that do not have three registered members by 11:59 pm tonight are not guaranteed a spot.

The previous communication also advised that, where a league reaches capacity, registration timestamps will be used to determine eligibility, based on the timestamp of a team’s third registered member.

Current League Status:

The Men’s League and Major League are now full.

An amendment has been made to the previously communicated Men’s/Major League capacity, increasing the maximum from 30 teams to 32 teams.

There is still space available in the Superleague, Women’s League and Mixed League.

Following the close of registration tonight, league registrations will be reviewed in accordance with the registration process outlined in the previous communication. Any teams that fall outside of the league limit will be notified tomorrow that they are on a waitlist for that respective league.

As a final reminder, all league registration links will close at 11:59 pm tonight. Members are encouraged to confirm that they have completed their registration and selected all leagues in which they intend to participate.

Break out your calendars Remax Curling Club competitive curlers!! The 2026/27 competitive curling event schedule has been released by the NLCA.

The Remax Curling Club is proud of the recognition Cailey Locke and Simon Perry received from SportNL during the 35th Annual Scholarship Awards.

Simon received a $750 scholarship for his athletic and academic achievements during 2025.

Cailey was the recipient of this year’s Frank T. Butler Memorial Scholarship. Cailey was presented a $1,500 scholarship for her athletic achievements during 2025. In 2025, her standout athletic achievement was representing Canada at the World Junior Championships in Cortina, Italy, where she helped secure a gold medal. Alongside her athletic success, she was recognized as the Town of Conception Bay South’s Female Athlete of the Year and received academic recognition through the For the Love of Curling Scholarship.

The Frank T. Butler Memorial Scholarship was established and named after Frank T. Butler, a St. John’s native, and SportNL Hall of Fame member, who was an enthusiastic volunteer on several Sport Newfoundland and Labrador Committees.
