** Junior Recap – Tuesday, June 2, 2026**
Metro Property Mgmt Knights - 3
Attain Physiotherapy Feildians - 2
The Metro Property Mgmt Knights and Attain Physiotherapy Fieldians went toe to toe in the late game on opening day, meeting up for the first time since the Knights won their playoff series last year. Both teams enter 2026 with high hopes as they look to build off of fantastic 2025 campaigns. The Knights came into Tuesday night’s affair with their championship swagger and feeling great about their chances as they sent Graham Noseworthy to the hill. Feildians looked to meet the defending champs head-on, with Braedy Sheppard taking the ball in hopes of handing the Knights an early season loss. The weather was cold, but the pitchers were red-hot in this one.
Noseworthy would go clean in the first, sitting the double blues down in order. Keeping pace, Sheppard would scatter a Cam Pennell single and take a scoreless game to the second. With one out and two on in the top of the second, Noseworthy would pickup back-to-back K’s to end the threat and the Knights would give him a lead as Noah Hill knocked in Ben Kent. Jayden James would single to put more pressure on, but Sheppard would pick up back-to-back K’s himself to keep the game 1-0 after two.
Noseworthy was firing on all cylinders, striking out the side in the third, but Sheppard navigating the strong Knights batting order, getting his turn to strike out the side in the bottom of the fourth and maintain the 1-0 score. The two aces were electric in this one, trading K’s and scoreless innings back and forth. The Knights managed to manufacture an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-0 lead into the final inning. Cue the dramatics…
Fieldians would start a rally, as Jacob Greening picked up his second hit of the game to put runners on first and second. With two on and 1 out, Jack Fowler would send a base knock into left field but the Knights defense would cut the runner down at the plate to pick up the second out of the inning. Feildians would manage to load the bases with 2 outs and the Knights brought rookie Sam Murray in to relieve Noseworthy. The double blues managed to score two runs off of small ball but with the score 3-2, the bases loaded and two out, Murray would pick up a massive strikeout to seal the 3-2 Knights win.
What a performance by both pitchers:
Graham Noseworthy – 6.2 IP, 3H, 2R, 6BB, 12K’s
Braedy Sheppard – 5.1IP, 5H, 3R,1BB, 8K’s
