The West Nipissing Lynx are proud to announce the return of dynamic forward Saveliy Kornev π·πΊ for the 2026-27 GMHL season!
After arriving in West Nipissing as a defenceman, Sava quickly demonstrated that he could impact the game in every situation. As the season progressed, his offensive instincts, elite hockey IQ, and ability to drive play became impossible to ignore.
At the trade deadline, the coaching staff made the decision to move him to center β a move that transformed him into one of the most dangerous and complete 200-foot players in the GMHL.

When the playoffs arrived, Sava elevated his game to another level. He became one of the Lynx's most clutch performers, helping lead the club through an unforgettable playoff run. His postseason included multiple multi-goal performances, a series-defining hat trick against the defending champion Bradford Rattlers, and several key power-play goals. He was widely recognized as one of the most impactful players in the North Division playoffs.

Whether it was an early morning skate or a community event, Sava consistently brought energy, professionalism, and a willingness to help the next generation of players.
A tremendous teammate, leader, mentor, and competitor, Sava embodies everything it means to wear the Lynx crest.

The West Nipissing Lynx are excited to officially welcome back 2005 born forward Tyler Thibodeau for the upcoming 2026/27 season
Tylers Rookie year he appeared in 36 regular season games where he recorded:

Tyler followed that up this past season with another big step offensively, posting:

His ability to create offense, attack open ice, and make plays under pressure quickly made him one of the Lynxβs most dangerous forwards every single night.
Standing at 6β2β, Tyler brings a combination of size, vision, and compete level that makes him difficult to contain. Whether heβs finishing around the net or setting up teammates, he continues to evolve into a complete two-way player and a leader within our lineup.
Tylerβs impact last season didnβt go unnoticed around the league. Not only was he recognized by his teammates and coaching staff as the teamβs MVP & Top Forward, but he also earned the respect of opponents across the GMHL with his consistent offensive production and compete level night after night. His standout season was capped off with a well-deserved selection to the 2026 GMHL All-Star Game, further proving he had become one of the leagueβs most recognized and dangerous forwards.
From day one, Tyler bought into the culture being built in West Nipissing β and now he returns hungry to help push this group even further.

The Lynx Youth Skills Camp returns August 31 β September 4, 2026, at the Marcel and Jane LabbΓ© Sturgeon Falls Arena!
This camp is focused entirely on on-ice skill development, helping players improve their skating, puck control, shooting, passing, and overall hockey skills in a fun and challenging environment.
