Today at Hunter Valley Adventures we tip our hats to a cowboy who was an integral part of our River Family.
Over the years many of our guests would visit Sunset Guiding and Backcountry Retreat for trail rides and they had the chance to meet Merle. He was a genuine cowboy who loved his time on the land and loved his horses even more.
Over the years, Merle, Lori and their family have become a part of ours. Both my kids have even worked up at Sunset and Mary is still a Wrangler there today. We didn't just lose a cowboy today, we are saying goodbye to a key member of our personal family. Merle, thank you for the stories, the laughter, the hugs, the memories, and for teaching us that a horse matters ❤️
"I count myself very lucky that I get to be a part of the wonderful world of horse sweat, soft noses, close calls and twilight on the trail.
I like living a life where a horse matters."
~Baxter Black
It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Merle George Fox.
Merle lived life on his own terms, with a cowboy hat on his head, dirt on his boots, and a deep love for farming, family, and friends. He leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Funeral arrangements will be shared at a later date.
Ride in the sky, Cowboy. Your work here is done, but your spirit will live on in every prairie sunrise and in the hearts of all who loved you. 🤍
