Arthur (South Surrey) won 🥇 the U1500 category of Good Bye 2025 event, scoring an impressive 8.5/9 and gaining 73 CFC rating points. A well‑deserved victory for this little champ🏆, with many more to come🍁🎉.

Ryan (Fraser Heights) closed out the year with a whopping 119 CFC points⚡️. He crossed the 1700 CFC benchmark while competing in the Good Bye 2025 Open Section🥰, and he also won 🏆the 2026 BC Chess Cup U18 🥇section in January🍁🎉.

Our emerging star 🌟 Jayden (South Surrey)🥉secured 3rd place in the BC Chess Club U12 Section. Many more victories lie ahead for this talented young player 🍁🎉.

Jeewantha 🥰 won the Sri Lankan 🇱🇰 National Youth Super League U18 🥇event in January 2026. He’s one of my longest‑standing students, having learned from me since the early stages of his chess journey 👦. This is yet another trophy for him, and I’m truly happy to play a meaningful role in his life 👨‍🏫 both on and off the board🎉.

Huge congratulations to Dulina 🥰 for winning the silver 🥈 medal in the Fraser Valley Rapid U1200 category! We are glad to see him achieving milestones in his chess career 🏁.

Dulina started with us around March, unsure about strategies and without a clear understanding of the game. But he was always diligent with his homework and the tasks we assigned. His hard work has truly paid off! 🥰🎉

Lahan continues to improve his rating and show consistency at BCYCC 2025😎. He gained 42 CFC points 📈and is now stable at 1651 CFC. Over the past few months, he has accumulated a total of 173 CFC rating points. He also secured 3rd place in the Fraser Valley Classic 3. 🥉🎉

Kari Wang 💁‍♀️started with a 0 rating and has increased her rating by 357 points over the past few months. ♟️

Arthur Huang increased his CFC rating by 152 points over the last few months📊. He joined us as an unrated player in February 2025 and is now rated 1340 CFC, continuing to improve steadily. 🥰

Ryan Li, one of our long-time students🫡, started with a 0 CFC/FIDE rating. He has reached 1556 CFC and is now rated 1629 FIDE🤩.

Lahan won 🏅 4th place in the BC Inter-School Chess Championship ♟️ 2025. The tournament had a total of 265 players, with 105 players in his respective section. He scored 5/6🥰, falling just half a point behind the co-leaders, and reached a CFC rating of 1610. 🎉

Linara 🥰 scored 3.5/6 and increased her quick play rating by 148 CFC points.💫

✨ Arthur increased his CFC rating by 34 points, reaching 1340. 🙌

♟️Dulina crossed his 1000 CFC barrier by gaining 94 points. ⚡️

Arthur fought hard and secured 2nd place 🥈in the U1300 category 🎉, increasing his CFC rating by 95 points at the 49th Keres Memorial Chess Championship. Coach Gayan Peiris won his category with an impressive 6/6 score.

Ryan and Lahan each increased their CFC rating by 48 points, with a performance rating around 1620🥰

♟️Canadian Youth Chess Finals (July 07-July 11)

We've learned that some of the students are not yet permanent residents or citizens of Canada. This means they aren’t eligible to play in the Canadian Youth Finals even if they’ve qualified.

If this rule affects you and you’ve already paid for the Canadian Youth Finals, you're welcome to request a refund anytime before June 18, 2025.
