Today, September 30, we recognize the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation and honour the children, families and communities impacted by the residential school system.

TRY ACRO 🤸

Does your child spend more time upside down than right-side up?

We know a class they might love. 😉

Acro combines dance with strength, flexibility, balance and progressively developed acrobatic skills — but at DG, learning skills safely and correctly matters more than rushing to the next trick.

Our small classes are particularly valuable in Acro, allowing teachers to provide hands-on attention, appropriate progressions and corrections based on each dancer’s individual ability.

Let them come try it before you decide.

Small classes. Big confidence.

TRY HIP HOP 🎧
Got a kid who just wants to MOVE?

They might have found their class.

Hip Hop gives dancers the chance to develop rhythm, coordination, musicality and confidence while learning movement that feels current, energetic and FUN.

And great Hip Hop training is still great training. Our teachers build skills progressively while creating an environment where dancers can relax, be themselves and enjoy learning.

No pressure to know whether it’s the right fit beforehand.

That’s why we offer trial classes.
Come try Hip Hop at DG.

Great teachers. Serious fun.

TRY JAZZ ✨

Have a dancer with BIG energy? Give them somewhere fabulous to put it.

Jazz is upbeat, expressive and packed with movement — while quietly building coordination, musicality, technique, memory and confidence along the way.

At DG, our small class sizes mean dancers receive the corrections and individual attention they need to actually progress, while still getting all the fun and energy of dancing with friends.

Not sure they’ll love it?
That’s exactly what trial classes are for.

Come give Jazz a try at Defy Gravity Dance Co. in Richmond, BC.

Big energy. Bigger confidence.

We are back for Season 20 and we can’t wait to dance with you 💕

TRY BALLET 🩰

Does your little one dance through the kitchen, point their toes and turn everything into a performance?
Ballet might be their perfect place to begin. 💗

Our Ballet classes introduce dancers to beautiful movement, musicality, coordination and foundational dance technique — all in an encouraging environment where they can build confidence at their own pace.

With small class sizes and individual teacher attention, our youngest dancers aren’t simply another student in the room. We get to know them, encourage them and help them feel successful.

✨ Try Ballet before committing for the season!

What if finding the right dance class didn’t have to be a guessing game? 💗

✨ TRIAL CLASS SIGN-UP IS NOW OPEN! ✨

Choosing an activity for your child is about so much more than finding an open spot on the calendar.

Will they like the teacher?
Will they feel comfortable in the class?
Will they be challenged without feeling overwhelmed?
Will someone notice when they need a little extra help — or a little extra challenge?
That’s exactly why we offer trial classes at Defy Gravity.

Come experience our studio before committing for the season.

At DG, we’ve intentionally created a dance experience that combines high-quality training with the individual attention of smaller classes — while making life a little easier for busy Richmond families, too.
