**STEP INTO THE STYLE: JAZZ (Part 3)**
Why do we teach jazz at Young at Arts?
Because jazz gives dancers the opportunity to build strong technique while discovering their own confidence, personality, and style.
Jazz builds:
• Strength, flexibility, and coordination
• Turns, jumps, kicks, and technical foundations
• Musicality and performance quality
• Confidence, expression, and stage presence
• Versatility across different styles of movement
One of the things that makes jazz so special is how much it can grow and change with a dancer.
A young dancer might begin with big energy, bouncy movement, and a whole lot of personality. As they grow, that foundation develops into stronger technique, more complex movement, greater musicality, and the ability to perform with confidence and intention.
And because jazz is constantly evolving with music, trends, and influences, there is always something new for dancers to explore. It can be powerful, playful, sharp, smooth, funky, theatrical, or full of sass — sometimes all in the same class!
At YAA, we believe jazz gives dancers the best of both worlds: the opportunity to work hard on their technique while never losing the JOY of dancing.
Whether your dancer is taking their very first jazz class or looking for their next challenge, there is a place for them at YAA!
Registration is still OPEN for our upcoming season, and we still have space available in select programs. Come dance, grow, and discover your love for jazz with us!

**NEW THIS FALL AT YAA - FINE ARTS CLUB!**
Create. Move. Imagine. Explore.
We are SO excited to officially bring Fine Arts Club to Young at Arts this season, with programming for children ages 2–9!
Fine Arts Club is so much more than an art class or a dance class. It brings together dance, yoga, fitness, music, art, drama, imaginative play and more into one creative, engaging program designed especially for young children.
Each class gives kids the opportunity to try new things, use their imagination and express themselves - all while developing skills that extend far beyond the studio.
Through Fine Arts Club, children can:
• Build confidence and independence
• Develop social skills and friendships
• Improve coordination and body awareness
• Explore creativity and self-expression
• Learn kindness, compassion and teamwork
• Discover new interests through movement, music, art and play
• And most importantly… HAVE FUN!
Fine Arts Club has been developed with early childhood experts and is already offered in 100+ studios across 5 countries - and we are thrilled to now have it right here at YAA!
Whether your child is always dancing around the house, loves getting messy with art, has a BIG imagination, enjoys music and make-believe, or simply wants to try a little bit of everything, Fine Arts Club gives them a place to explore it all.
Registration is OPEN for our upcoming season, and we can’t wait to welcome our very first Fine Arts Club students!
Ages 2–9 | Starting this fall at Young at Arts

**WELCOME TO THE YAA TEACHING TEAM, MISS MACEY MCLEOD!**
Macey has been a valued member of the Young at Arts Academy family since she was five years old. She began her dance journey in our TripleX Program before progressing into our Intensive Program, where she has grown into a versatile, dedicated, and accomplished dancer. Having experienced the Young at Arts journey firsthand, Macey brings a deep understanding of our studio values and a genuine passion for helping young dancers build confidence, develop new skills, and discover a lifelong love of dance.
Throughout her training, Macey has studied a wide variety of dance styles, including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theatre. Committed to both artistic and technical excellence, she has successfully completed Cecchetti Ballet examinations through Grade 6, along with AIDT examinations through Grade 4.
Since the age of 13, Macey has been an integral part of our Teaching Assistant Program. Over the years, she has supported instructors in a variety of classes, assisted with studio performances, and helped lead our summer camps. Her patience, leadership, dependability, and encouraging nature have made her a valued mentor to younger dancers and a trusted member of our teaching team.
In addition to her teaching experience, Macey has participated in numerous conventions, competitions, community performances, parades, and fundraising events. Her dedication and passion for dance have earned her many accolades, including overall awards, Judges' Choice Awards, and scholarships that recognize both her talent and commitment to continuous growth.
As she begins this exciting new chapter as an instructor, Macey is eager to share the encouragement, confidence, and joy that dance has brought to her life. She hopes to inspire the next generation of dancers to develop the same love of dance that has shaped her journey over the past 12 years.
We are so excited to officially welcome Miss Macey to our YAA teaching staff!
