💝*and our yearly reminder*💝
🍫Choose chocolate or plush for Easter Giving🧸 ... a furry "live" bunny is way too big of a commitment for kids & even most adults!
•can live 8-12 years
•average first year cost $1,200+, with ongoing yearly costs of $1,000+ (higher if an accident or sickness happens)
•are indoor animals, with a precious heart for destruction
•require a specialized diet - including daily hay
•live better in pairs (to feel safe & happy, they need a bond mate)
Although social media will be filled with pics of kids hugging and snuggling with their 'bun', be assured that is not always, or even usually, the norm.
Buns are prey animals; they instinctively fear being grabbed, held, and lifted. It takes a very special approach, patience and time to build trust with these beautiful, gentle creatures. A highly excitable, zero patience, low maturity child will only get angry and frustrated when their new best furry friend keeps hopping away, potentially biting and definitely kicking them with their strong back legs.
🙏Please research carefully the care of rabbits before bringing one, or better yet two, into your home. They can be wonderful and very rewarding pets, but only if are aware of what type of commitment you are getting into and are properly prepared for them.
Adopt a bun, instead of supporting breeding...there are already way too many needing a good home!
