Entering our 52nd Consecutive Summer of Hockey Camp Fun and Instruction! It's the SLHC Experience! First Camp was hosted in 1975.

Entering our 49th consecutive year enjoying the company of young hockey hopefuls and their families. We are extremely proud of our past and the fact that we have had an impact on over 56,000 players throughout these years. That being said we are marking this milestone with enthusiasm and optimism as we expand and strengthen our partnership with Hockey Alberta to ensure we remain among the leaders

in player and now, coach development. Over 56,000 students have attended. Students have come from over 18 Countries from every Continent, 16 American States, and every Province and Territory in Canada. Goaltender Hockey Camp started in 1983. Jasper Hockey Camp opened in 1996. All Girls Hockey Camp started in 1998. Angling & Skills Specialty Clinics introduced in 2009. Hockey Alberta Development Partnership pilot project implementation 2012. Hockey Alberta Official Development Licensee Partnership formulated 2013. As seen above, the Sylvan Lake Hockey Camp has consistently updated its’ programs to keep up with the ever changing development of the game. The emphasis of these programs has been training on fundamentals which has incorporated the latest of on ice and off ice drills and training information. Development Initiative
In keeping with that “Tradition” and looking to the “Next Generation” the partnership with Hockey Alberta is monumental as it gives the Camp access to the very latest appropriate training philosophies and technology. That information is captured in Hockey Canada’s’ “Long Term Player Development” document and is the basis for our program. The basics are as follows:

Age and skill appropriate training and development…on and off the ice. Focus on age appropriate training to ensure the participant develops as an athlete and acquires the skills necessary to play and enjoy hockey. Encourage hockey leaders (coaches, parents and other champions) to understand and value the importance of all-around development…delivering hockey specific skills at the right time in a young player’s career.

🏒✨ SLHC Summer 2026 has completed for the season! ✨🏒

As we officially close out the 52nd summer of the Sylvan Lake Hockey Camp, we want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to every athlete, parent, family, staff member, instructor, and supporter who helped make another summer at SLHC so memorable.

Once again, it was incredible to welcome new faces alongside familiar ones, including families who have now been part of SLHC for generations! Seeing athletes return year after year, and former campers bringing the next generation to experience SLHC, is something we are incredibly proud of and grateful for.
Thank you for continuing to choose SLHC and for being part of our hockey camp family.

A special thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our End of Session Survey. Your comments, suggestions, and constructive feedback are extremely valuable to us. As we begin planning for Summer 2027, we will be reviewing your feedback and looking at ways we can continue to improve the SLHC experience.

While programs may evolve, one thing will never change: our commitment to providing a camp where players of all skill levels can learn, improve, build friendships, be challenged, and most importantly, have FUN playing the game we all love.

To all of our athletes, good luck in your upcoming hockey season! Work hard, have fun, be a great teammate, and enjoy every opportunity you get to step onto the ice.

🏒 What a way to kick off our 52nd summer! ❤️🖤

We're a little late posting tonight, but it's been a very busy (and exciting!) day welcoming both our newest and returning athletes to the first day of SLHC 2026!

The smiles, excitement, new friendships, familiar faces, and the sound of skates hitting the ice reminded us why we love what we do. Since 1975, we've been creating unforgettable hockey experiences, and today marked the beginning of another incredible summer.

To all of our campers, families, coaches, group leaders, rovers, and staff—thank you for making Day 1 such a fantastic success.

Here's to a summer filled with hockey, friendships, confidence, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime.

🏒 Welcome to Our 52nd Summer! ☀️

The excitement is building as we prepare to welcome our first athletes for Session 1 of the 2026 Sylvan Lake Summer Hockey Camp tomorrow!

Since 1975, we have had the privilege of welcoming more than 70,000 athletes and their families from all 10 Canadian provinces, all 3 territories, 24 U.S. states, and 24 countries around the world. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of our journey over the past 52 summers, and to the families who have chosen to spend part of their summer with us this year.

The NexSource Centre's Diamond Valley Den will be open all summer, and this year it overlooks our main arena! 🏒🍔

While your athlete is on the ice, stop in to relax, grab a coffee, enjoy a cold drink, or treat yourself to a bite to eat. It's the perfect place to watch the action while taking a break.
