The salmon have been spotted in the Robson Valley! After swimming more than 1,300 km up the mighty Fraser River, these incredible fish are making their way home to spawn and complete one of nature’s most remarkable life cycles.
Salmon are a true keystone species. Their return brings vital nutrients from the ocean back into the river ecosystem, supporting wildlife, birds, forests, and countless other species along the way. 🐻🦅🌲

And now you have a chance to see this incredible migration from the river itself!

What is river classification? Here is a short guide 👇🏼

Class I
• calm moving water with little to no consequence.
🚣🏽‍♂️ Stellar’s Scenic Float

Class II
• splashy moving water with one or two features and little consequence.
🚣🏽‍♂️ Terry Fox, Wild Cat, and the Lower Canyon rapids on the Fraser River

Class III
• features are present creating big splashes, unplanned swims can result in some consequence
🚣🏽‍♂️ Fraser River Rafting

Class IV
• must make moves. swims can become longer and rougher, consequence is higher.
🚣🏽‍♂️ Beaver River, Dore River, Canoe River, Babine + Skeena
(call for current class IV options)

Class V
• must make moves. being off line or swims can result in serious injury, loss of life or limb.
BCROA members do not commercially raft class V.
🚣🏽‍♂️ Come get a photo with class V Rearguard Falls (pictured) during our Fraser Raft Run (portage) + ask your guides about different kayak lines at the falls!

Class VI
• unrunnable (ex. Helmcken Falls / Niagara Falls)
Fun Fact: after a handful of people successfully run a class VI it will be downgraded to a class V.

Fraser rafting brings not just splashy fun but beautiful Canadian scenery.

The Fraser River class 2/3
bring your friends, bring your kids, bring your parents

• starts as a scenic class I float where we can learn about each other and practice paddling together as a team
• 2 class II entry rapids to get us used to paddling through waves
• we come into our first sets of class III rapids before we come to our longest rapid of the day
• portage the raft around rearguard falls allows us to view the power of the river! (during the salmon run we can see the strongest salmon jump up the falls!) 🐟
• following the portage we come to our biggest rapid of the day full of splashy goodness
• we will enjoy our scenic float through the class II lower canyon that opens up into the swim section!

this section has numerous lines that can be run to make your trip more high adventure or family style. we cater to all!

Whitewater rafting is an inherently dangerous activity.

Stellar Descents Whitewater Rafting is an operating member of British Columbia River Outfitters Association (BCROA) BCROA (BC River Outfitters Association) which upholds our guides and operation to the highest standard.

Our guides have completed extensive training to ensure every hazard is appropriately managed and mitigated.

Every person has a place on the river no matter your background or ability. If you have questions about whitewater rafting, our team is ready to answer.

We currently offer Scenic Float tours on the Fraser River, class 2/3 rafting on the Fraser River, and class 3/4 rafting on the Beaver.
We currently offer flat water/ whitewater private kayaking and SUP - Stand Up Paddle Boarding lessons and rentals.

The Big Water Beaver River is still OPEN!
We are often done rafting this world-class Class 4 river because the snow melt is done by July, but because of the big snow pack this past winter and the weather we've been having, trips are still possible! We're expecting another week, maybe two if we're lucky, to be able to get you on this mammoth of a river. If you're into big adventures, come raft the falls with Stellar before it's too late!
