2021 was full of ups and downs, lessons & tribulations, but surprising me with a blue belt (mid-demonstration...I was dumbfounded) made all of it so worth it, and a hundred times over🥋💕
THANK YOU to each and every one of my AMAZING teammates; you all make me want to be a better person & a better Jiu-Jitsu practitioner🙏

"If we show emotion,
we're called "dramatic".
If we dream of equal opportunity,
we're called "delusional".
When we're too good,
there's something wrong with us.
If we get angry,
We're called hysterical,
Or just being crazy."

Fighting in blood-sport was the first rite of passage known to mankind. Long after it became unnecessary to survive, the love of fight continued into the centuries. We'd break our bones, twist each other's arms and legs until they snapped, strike one another until we'd prove who is alpha and who is beta, all because we love to fight, but in truth we for fight for love...for the love of adrenaline, for the love of accomplishment, for the love of our friends fighting along side us.
"So if they want to call you crazy, let them.
Show them what crazy can do."

An amazing afternoon of being crushed into the mats and being the only competing female today's .grappling tournament! I always look forward to these events; no politics, just decent people.
I was extremely proud to walk in my new home gym team, and looking forward to many more to come 🥋👊

"Jiu-jitsu is perfect, it's humans that make the errors," said Rickson Gracie.
Like any sport, there are politics. It was a tough realization the day that I had a talk with two of my peers in combat sport in regard to the short-comings and frysterations they had to face on their own, then increasingly more through social media platforms ever since my story post about being disqualified from a competition this past Saturday.
I was genuinely surprised and even mortified at some of the stories I've received in my inbox, but the same time relieved that I wasn't the only one this was happening to.
The moral of this story is that anything worthwhile in life will give you problems, no goal is reached without road blocks along the way... and there are always others facing the same problems you are, but it's not an excuse to give up. In the end, accepting defeat is your own choice. There are always people who want to see you fail, no matter how hard you work or how genuine you are with them...don't give them the satisfaction.

Always took strength training very seriously, and it never steered wrong.
Getting with battle ropes...first time I picked these fu***rs up I could barely shake them twice, now I can muck around with these things for hours❤️
