Have you procreated? 👶 Are your off-spring young, full of energy and jump on everything including your couch, bed, and possibly their siblings🏃‍♂️‍➡️? Behold the solution to your spring-boned snag....the bouncy castle! 🏰

The Rec Complex has one used bouncy castle for sale, $100. Suitable for children aged 0-6yrs old. Complete with blower and power cord: simply plug-in to inflate. This bouncy castle is industrial heavy weight, no leaks or rips, but it does have a bubble in the center of the jumping surface.

Back into the swing of things, and the school germs are right there with us! 🦠 Honestly, back-to-school illness should be on the calendar like daylight savings—it happens every year, and we all wish we could skip it.

Heads up for tonight (Thursday, September 3rd): The Rec Complex will be closing early today at 5:00 PM.

Ever received a duct-cleaning call and decided to mess with them? 🤭 "I don't have any ducks that need cleaning, but my goose could use a good wash..." We've all done it, and it's hilarious 😄

What's not hilarious is dusty ducts, we're giving our facility some love and shinning up those ducks...

The Rec Complex will be closed September 11 & 12 (Friday & Saturday), with regular hours returning on September 14 (Monday).

Another sweet summer day of play and organized chaos! 😎With 32 kids, 6 supervisors, and 1 trusty bus driver, we officially took over IR Warriors laser tag and Blackstone mini-golf ⛳ for our 2nd field trip of the summer.

It was an action-packed day of outdoor fun, endless energy, and—of course—a small fortune of hidden gold found along the way! 🪙A huge thank you to IR Warriors and Blackstone for hosting us. And shoutout to all the kiddos for playing so well together—you make Thorsby so proud! ❤️

Take a gander at our local artisan potters 👩‍🎨🏺

The Rec Complex welcomed Clay for Kids Edmonton this past July for our pottery wheel bootcamp, and it was a smash hit with the kids! 🤗 Kiddlets rolled, spun, and shaped awesome pieces of pottery. Great work kiddos, I hope you all had fun!

All participant pottery is ready to be picked up from the Complex front counter.

Good morning and happy back-to-school! ✏️🎒

Leduc County FCSS and the Thorsby Municipal Library have partnered up to offer free fresh bread 🍞 and family games 🎲 for our community. Drop by the west entrance of the Rec Complex to pick up a complimentary loaf (or 8!) and a fun game to enjoy together.

A huge thank you to FCSS and the Library for your wonderful support and donations to our community! 👨‍👩‍👧

🚜 Community Assistance Needed 🚜

Due to the excessive rainfall we've experienced this season, our soccer fields were too wet to mow for an extended period. We were finally able to get them mowed last week, but we're now left with a thick layer of cut grass that needs to be removed before it affects the healthy turf underneath.

We're looking for a local farmer or contractor who may have equipment capable of raking, collecting, or otherwise removing the cut grass from the field.

This would be paid work, and we're happy to discuss compensation for the right equipment and service.

The long weekend is just a few weeks away... ahhh, summer! ☀️ Wind down after your camping weekend with us at the Rec Complex for a special parks and craft day: Park Patchwork Palooza! 🛝🧶

📅 When: August 4th | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
👶 Ages: 7+
💰 Cost: $20 per participant

We are kicking it old school! We'll play hard in the sun and sand, then head back to the complex to make some awesome hook-and-latch pictures to take home. Parent FYI: These hook-and-latch pictures are the ultimate boredom busters! 🧶☀️My kids sat out on the deck for over two hours working on theirs—it was pure heaven! Bonus: my floors actually stayed clean for almost the whole afternoon. 🤫✨
