It is with a mix of gratitude and sadness that we announce the the retirement of Sensei Dawn Kinsey, who has dedicated an incredible 24 years to teaching and inspiring students at the Three Hills Karate Club. We would like to take a moment to celebrate her journey and express our heartfelt appreciation for her unwavering commitment and passion.
Dawn started her karate journey as an adult, joining her youngest son in training at a dojo in Red Deer. When a dojo opened in Three Hills, they quickly became active members, supporting and volunteering their time with the ISKF. When the original instructors moved from the community, Dawn stepped up and became the teacher of the club, not only maintaining the student base, but growing the Club into an integral part of the Three Hills community. She achieved her first black belt in 2002, and then her Nidan and Sandan belts as well. As Sensei, Dawn helped her students achieve their best, with Three Hills students consistently grading highly for their belts and competing provincially and nationally.
Dawn has been more than just an instructor, she has been a mentor, guide and a source of inspiration for countless students who have walked through the dojo doors. Throughout her tenure, Dawn has taught not only the physical techniques of karate but has also imparted valuable life lessons that extend beyond the dojo. Her emphasis on perseverance, integrity, and humility has helped shape the character of her students and has left an indelible mark on our community.
Thank you for your years of dedication, passion, and love for the art of karate.
With deepest appreciation,
Students of the Three Hills Karate Club

Wow! Coming right up! 🥋
This has been a unique season in our club. We're a small gang these days and there's been a lot going on within families, health, and community. Recognizing all that is in motion, we encourage everyone to show up for class this week and connect with Sensei regarding grading and participation in the seminar.
Renever: Slow progress is still progress 🥋
