🏅 SSSAA Athletes of the Week 🏅

Congratulations to Westgate's Will and Charlie Coulter on being named this week's SSSAA Athletes of the Week!

The Coulter brothers put together an incredible performance at the NWOSSAA Track & Field Championships, combining for five gold medals, one bronze medal, and two NWOSSAA records while earning qualification to the OFSAA Track & Field Championships in Niagara Falls.

Will captured gold medals in the 100m, 200m, and Triple Jump, setting a new NWOSSAA Triple Jump record of 11.92m. Charlie earned gold medals in Shot Put and Javelin, added a bronze medal in Discus, and set a new NWOSSAA Shot Put record with a throw of 13.78m.

In addition to their success on the track and in the field, both athletes were key contributors to Westgate's SSSAA Junior Boys Basketball Championship Team this season.

SSSAA Athlete of the Week is proudly presented by KWIK who will be awarding Will and Charlie each a $25 gift card.

🏅 SSSAA Athlete of the Week 🏅

Congratulations to Lucas (Grade 10) of Thunder Bay Christian High School on being named SSSAA Athlete of the Week.

Lucas has excelled across multiple sports throughout the year. In the fall, he was a key member of the Hammarskjold football team, earning the Most Coachable Award. He also demonstrated commitment and dedication as a member of the Hammarskjold basketball team.

Most recently, Lucas delivered an outstanding performance at the NWOSSAA Track & Field Championships, finishing as the 3rd Overall Junior Boy while earning gold in Triple Jump, silver in High Jump, and a 4th-place finish in Long Jump.

Lucas continues to be a leader, motivator, and positive role model for his teammates both on and off the field.

Congratulations to Oliver Aaltomaa on being named SSSAA Athlete of the Week.

Oliver demonstrated outstanding athletic ability at the track and field meet while bringing a great attitude and positive team spirit throughout the competition. He earned a third place finish in Novice Boys Shot Put and captured first place in Novice Boys Long Jump.

Oliver’s hard work, determination, and sportsmanship continue to make him a valued member of the Gryphon athletics program.
