Oil of the Month: Lemongrass essential oil
Lemongrass essential oil is a bright, citrus-scented oil steam-distilled from lemongrass leaves. It’s known for its fresh, clean aroma and its versatility in everyday use.
It’s commonly used in aromatherapy for its uplifting scent, in natural cleaning products, and in outdoor blends to help discourage insects like mosquitoes and ticks. When properly diluted, it can also be used in DIY sprays for skin, clothing, or outdoor gear.
It blends well with oils like cedarwood, lavender, eucalyptus, and peppermint, often adding a fresh top note to mixtures.
Because it’s strong, it should always be diluted before applying to skin, and it works best as a supportive natural option rather than a replacement for stronger tick repellents.
