Piper will be returning for her 3rd year at Champs. Monty will be giving Champs a try for the first time. Walter will be running in Elite for the first time. They will have Hank cheering them on during their runs and will have her most reliable Agility Support Spouse, Vern at her side. We wish them safe travels and best of luck at Champs!

A huge congratulations to Kathy Groop and her Corgis. You have come a long way lady. We couldn’t be more proud. Here is how Kathy summarized her week at the UKI Canadian Open.
What an incredible and humbling experience at the 2026 UKI Canadian Open! 🇨🇦🐾
We are coming home with three medals for Piper, a fourth-place overall finish for Monty, and so much pride in Walter.
🥉 PIPER — SPEEDSTAKES
Piper finished 3rd in Round 1 and 4th in Round 2, earning 3rd overall and a bronze medal!
🥈 PIPER — MASTERS SERIES
Piper placed 2nd in the Jumping portion and 3rd in Agility, earning 2nd overall and the silver medal!
🥉 PIPER — GAMES CHALLENGE
In Snooker, Piper tied for 2nd in points, but time placed her 4th. She then finished 2nd in Gamblers. Those combined results moved her into 3rd overall and earned us another bronze medal!
Piper also competed in Nationals and Biathlon. We were eliminated from both after off courses. 😢
I am not going to lie - I felt out of my depth at times. These courses were incredibly challenging, and I made more handling mistakes than I would have liked. But Piper was an absolute professional. She carried me, gave me everything she had and somehow brought us home three medals. What an incredible little dog.
MONTY — SPEEDSTAKES
Monty finished 7th in Round 1 and came roaring back to finish 2nd in Round 2, placing 4th overall!
Monty ran with so much drive and did everything I asked of him. Watching him step up and run like that in this environment was incredibly special. He was nipping at Pipers heals with him finishing fourth and Piper 3rd.
WALTER — NATIONALS, BIATHLON AND MASTERS
Walter and I had off courses in Nationals and Biathlon. In Masters, he placed 7th in the Agility portion and had an off course in Jumping. He also competed in Snooker but did not advance to the Gamblers round.
The results don’t tell Walter’s whole story. I could not be prouder of him. In an extremely busy, high-stress environment, he pushed through, stayed connected with me and kept going. That was a huge victory for him and for us.
Final results:
🥈 Piper — Masters Series
🥉 Piper — Speedstakes Challenge
🥉 Piper — Games Challenge
4th overall — Monty, Speedstakes Challenge
And, of course, Hank was there cheering on his fur family alongside Vern.
There were eliminations, handling mistakes and plenty of lessons but there were also three medals and five placement ribbons, some incredible runs and three dogs who gave me absolutely everything they had, with Hank and Vern supporting us every step of the way.
I am so proud of this entire little team. What an experience! ❤️
I would also like to thank our club members Lynda Vibert, for taking on the job of volunteer coordinator, it made my job much easier and Karl Schulzki for maintaining and hauling the equipment, for being trial chair and also chief course builder. We could not have put on this trial without you both. Karl Schulzki Lynda Elvish-Vibert

Day 1 was a lot of fun, even if we had to take a break for a thunderstorm. Day 2 ran very well with lots of smiles and wagging tails and no rain or thunderstorms. Day 3 was a shorter day. The sun was fully out and the dogs were happy to be in the ring. If you have taken any pictures and would like to share them please do.
We want to thank all the volunteers who helped out over the weekend, timers, scribes, gate stewards, bar setters, leash runners and course builders. the trial would not have run as smoothly without you all.
A huge thank you the competitors for entering our trial. It was so nice to see so many coming out to support our club. We look forward to seeing you next year.
To our judge Patty LeRoy, thank your for the fun and challenging courses. We are keeping our fingers crossed that Westjet gets you all the way home in a timely fashion.

What a great weekend everyone had at our NADAC trial. We would like to thank the following.
The grounds crew at Chippewa Park who did a great job of mowing and sweep the field for our trial. No goose p**p left on our field. 🙂
A huge thank you to our judge, Janet Ooms from Calgary for a very fun weekend. We did “Enjoy” the courses you brought.
Thanks also to Diana Crago who took on the volunteer coordinator position for the weekend, it was a huge help to us.
Thank you to club member, Lynda Vibert, for helping out on Saturday and Sunday afternoons when we were short of volunteers even though you are still recovering from surgery.
Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who worked hard all weekend to keep the trial running smoothly. We couldn’t to it without you. Thank you to the competitors who took time away from their dogs to help out in the ring especially when we were short of workers. Thank you to everyone who help setup and taking down this weekend. Many hands make light work.
A huge thank you to those who brought us hot beef and buns for lunch on Saturday and for the hot chilli and soup and buns on Sunday. (See, I’m not mentioning names). Let’s not forget to say thanks for bringing the slushy machine, even if it was cold and windy it was a nice treat.
Lastly I want to than my husband Karl (my partner in crime lol) for all his hard work before, during and after the trial. Trial weekends would not happen without him doing everything he does.
Thanks Sandra Siciliano for taking these pictures.
