Another strong showing on the national stage for the Thunderwolves family! 🐺🔥

Congratulations to Jakob Wildschut on capturing a silver medal at the Canadian Wrestling Championships in Montréal, finishing 2nd in the Senior Men’s 61kg division.

Future Thunderwolf Mylie Baccari also impressed, earning bronze in the U20 Women’s 53kg division before winning her true second match to secure her spot as the World Team Alternate in her weight class.

We are pleased to welcome Crystal Chol, a 6’1 forward from Waterloo Collegiate Institute to Lakehead Women’s Basketball! 🏀🐺

Crystal competes with the KW Vipers G-Elite team, where she has continued to develop her game against strong provincial competition.

Crystal brings athleticism, length, and a relentless motor to the floor. Her ability to run the court, compete on the glass, and impact plays with her energy will be a strong addition to our frontcourt.

Head Coach Chris Rao said,

“Crystal is an athletic player with a great attitude and an outstanding motor. She competes every possession and brings the kind of energy and work ethic that fits our program.”

We look forward to welcoming Crystal to the program and to seeing her compete in cobalt and blaze.

🚨 New Recruit Alert 🚨

Lakehead Wrestling is excited to announce another commitment for the 2026/27 season! Please welcome Hailey Jolly! 🤼‍♂️🐺

Hailey attends St. Thomas More in Hamilton, Ontario. She is a multiple-time OFSAA qualifier and has had a very successful high school career competing across multiple sports. Her multi-sport background has helped develop her athleticism, work ethic, and competitive mindset, which will serve her well as she transitions to the next level and joins a strong and growing women’s roster.

Head Coach, Jordan Ferguson, had this to say about Hailey joining the team next season:

“We are excited to have Hailey joining the team. She will be a valuable asset to our team as we look to add depth and foster competition in the room. She is a hard worker and will be right at home with our women’s team, who is looking to capitalize on their momentum from last year and continue to build into a contender for years to come.”

Abagail is from Georgetown, Ontario, and is a multiple-time OFSAA finalist. She has consistently competed at a high level throughout her high school career, demonstrating strong determination and competitive drive that will translate well to the next level. Abagail’s experience on the provincial stage will add valuable depth to a growing and competitive women’s roster.
