Hello everyone. Figured we should post an update on our search for a practice space and share some exciting news with you.
Unfortunately our efforts have not gotten us any closer to playing roller derby in Thunder Bay. 👎🏻We contacted our Mayor, and the city, which resulted in a very informative conversation with them but they were unable to help us out at this time. We wanted to thank the ones who reached out and offered suggestions to us and helped share our post and tag some folks you thought may be able to help us. We won’t give up hope so please keep those ideas coming! 🤞🏻
It has been YEARS since we last put on a bout for you folks and we miss our skates tremendously. 😭
Now for some happy news.

We hope to see some familiar faces out on the track! Oh wait… I mean court? No clue what to call it so let’s just say out on their wheels!

Heyyyy folks! I sure hope you miss us as much as we miss you!
We have been without a practice space since March of 2020, and our bearings are rusting away in our wheels.
We are in desperate need of a place to practice so we can put on some more of those hard hitting bouts that all of you loved!
If anyone can think of a place suitable for our needs we are begging you to come forward. We have a group of littles from the Thunder Bay Junior Roller Derby League who are missing their skates as well.
We need a place for a track about 80’ wide by 100’ long.
We don’t even need heat! Just a nice hard preferably polished cement floor to skate on!
Reach out if you can help so we don’t have to fold this beloved league of ours!
We look forward to hearing from you!
Hugs and Hipchecks.
Hello everyone,
We are very sad to announce that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic we have had to make the decision to cancel the rest of our season this year. This includes the May and June bouts.
We are looking forward more than ever to coming back strong in 2021 to bring you some more awesome roller derby excitement.
Thank you for sticking with us during this time and we hope you are all staying safe, healthy, and home.
From all of us to all of you,
Take Care & Virtual Hugs,
TBRDL

COVID-19 UPDATE
Due to the ongoing crisis in Canada and the world, TBRDL has decided to postpone our April 25 mixer bout Ports vs Forts: Amalgamation Smashification until further notice.
Although it is possible that the event will take place beyond the "exclusion zone" we do not want to take any chances as our first priority is to keep our skaters and our community safe. We will be addressing the feasibility of our future bouts 4-5 weeks in advance of each one.
It is with heavy hearts that we make this decision but at this time we feel it is the best one we could have made. Ontario is now in a state of emergency and it is important we do what we can to keep our society safe.
Please, when you can, stay home, practice social distancing, don't panic, and make safe and smart choices during this crisis. That said, social distancing does not mean social isolation - call your friends, keep in touch with your family, and do what you can to maintain your mental and physical health.
We're all in this together - thank you for your understanding

Happy International Women's day to all who identify with it!
In theory, roller derby seems to be about knocking each other down but in reality, it's really about building each other up. It can be tough, it can be painful, but at the end of the day we're all just here to help one another get stronger. Without love and teamwork we wouldn't have the game we all care about so much.
So major props today, and all days, to every strong woman who came before us, to all who are with us now, and to all who are still yet to come.
We're all in this together and girl, have we ever got it.
PS: Help support women in sport by buying tickets to watch our upcoming bouts!
