Brooks Academy of Dance - Tillsonburg BAD opened it's doors in 2010 directed under Brittany Brooks & Emily Brooks. We are a dance studio located in the heart of Tillsonburg.

We offer a structured, fun-filled environment teaching dance forms such as Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Acro, Lyrical, Contemporary, Pointe, Hip hop, Pre-dance and Adult Dance Classes for all ages. We offer both Competitive & Recreational classes with enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. Recently renovated, we are now the LARGEST dance studio in Tillsonburg offering students 3 dance studios with large viewing areas, professional marley flooring, a dance supply store (open to our BAD students as well as the public), a sibling "cubby" where students and siblings are able to read and play in while they wait, a staff lounge, a study nook, a storage area, a salon and 3 washrooms.

From refreshed programs, progress reports to improvements designed to make our space even better for our dancers and families, we’re putting lots of love into the place we call home. 🥹✨

🌟 Our First WOW Cards of the Week! 🌟
We’re kicking off the season by celebrating our very first WOW Card recipients! 🎉 Congratulations to these standout dancers - we are SO proud of you! 💕👏

But what exactly is a WOW Card? ✨

Our dancers can receive WOW Cards for all kinds of reasons. Maybe they were an incredible helper, a wonderful listener, showed kindness to a friend, learned a brand-new skill, stepped outside their comfort zone, or have simply been working incredibly hard. 💪🩰

WOW Cards are about recognizing dancers for more than just their dancing. We want to celebrate the great people they are becoming - their effort, kindness, perseverance, attitude, teamwork, and all the little moments that make us say, WOW! 🌟

We couldn’t be more excited to start the season with this amazing group of dancers!

17 SEASONS. ONE BIG BAD FAMILY. 💜
A bit of a personal post...

It’s hard to believe that 17 seasons ago, this crazy girl had an idea… 😂

I can still remember sitting at the kitchen table at my parents’ house, pitching the idea of starting a dance studio. And yes… I pitched it much like a business proposal, explaining why I believed this was what I wanted to do with my life.

I was only 19 years old- aging myself here! 🫣

And somehow… here we are. 17 seasons later.

People are often shocked when they find out that I’m the Director ... and even more shocked when they hear we’ve been open this long

It is then when I’m reminded just how crazy it must have seemed to my parents all those years ago when their young adult daughter said, “I think I want to start a dance studio.”

But this week… my heart was BURSTING with pride.

We had dancers walk through our doors for their very first dance class EVER.🥹

We had dancers who ran through those same doors, straight into my arms for a BIG hug, ready to start another veteran year.

We had recreational dancers.
We had competitive dancers.
We had tiny dancers and dancers who have grown up right before our eyes.

And all of us… one big BAD family. 💜

To every family who has trusted us with your children .. past and present.. thank you. Thank you for believing in us, supporting us, cheering us on, sticking with us through the crazy, and allowing us to be a small part of your dancer’s journey.

And a HUGE thank you for your patience this week. The first week is always a little chaotic as we navigate new schedules, new rooms, new entrances, new routines and all of the moving pieces that come with a new season. We appreciate your patience more than you know!

I will forever be grateful that I get to say…

I’m here.
I’m doing what I love.
And I get to spend my days helping shape the next generation.

“Blessed” truly doesn’t do it justice and I will continue to be honoured that my parents believed in me enough to support my decision all those years ago.

From that kitchen table at my parents’ house to SZN 17 at BAD…

What a ride it has been. 💜

Here’s to 17 seasons… and 17 more. 🔥🔥

1. 💕 17 Years & Counting! — I’ve been married to my husband, Dan, for 17 years! Through all the adventures, projects, dance life and everything in between, he’s still my favourite person to do life with. ❤️
2. 🎄 Christmas Is My Super Bowl! — Christmas is, without a doubt, my favourite time of year! And I don’t believe in doing things halfway… our house is complete with 11 Christmas trees! 🎄
3. 🏰✨ We are total Disneyaholics! Disney is, without a doubt, our all-time favourite place to be.
