Gold City Boxing returns home this time without an official victory, but not without making a statement.

Tyron Sutherland fought an exhibition bout where both boxers are granted the win. It was a highly entertaining and skilled matchup that showcased the talent and heart of both young athletes.

Coach Liam Whelan was our second one up and what a barn burner that one was! Lots of power shots from both guys. Liam landing a huge hook that rocked his opponent and giving him a standing 8 count in the third says it all! Although he was unable to secure the decision, it was very entertaining!

Coach Evan was our third boxer in the ring last night. He came out like he always does, ready, and dominating the bout with clean and accurate shots. His opponent came out with alot of fire power, some landing but most on elbows and shoulders. Although we dont always agree with the judges, it was definelty still a very highly competitive bout.

Our boxers again proved one thing without a doubt; Our small northern ontario boxing club is here, we belong! we win some, we lose some, but we always come out ready and offer no easy wins for anyone! We will continue to grind together and keep showing up together. I am extremely proud of every single one of you.

Three of our Gold City Boxing members are heading to Sudbury to compete at Top Glove Boxing Academy!

First up, our Brampton Cup Champion: Coach Evan Gillies. Evan steps back through the ropes, ready to represent. 🏆

We also have another one of our coaches stepping into the ring, Coach Liam! Leading by example and showing our members that our coaches don’t just teach the sport, they live it. 🥊

And last but definitely not least, one of our young up-and-coming fighters, Tyron! The future of Gold City Boxing continues to grow.

These athletes have put in the work. Now it's time to have some fun and showcase it.

After-hours gym access will be available to approved adult competitive members preparing for bouts.

I want to personally thank a good friend of mine, Cody Briscoe , for donating funds to Gold City Boxing Club. His support is allowing us to move forward with some long overdue renovations and additions to the gym. Cody is a hard working miner who understands what hard times can look like, and despite that, he’s still willing to give back and support positive things happening in the community. That says a lot about a person. People don’t always see the behind the scenes work, costs, and effort that go into building and improving a community space like this. Support from people like Cody genuinely helps us continue growing and creating better opportunities for our members and local youth.
