10:00 am Feldenkrais Lessons; Awareness Toward Movement (A.T.M)
KNOW THYSELF: Feldenkrais Method lessons are designed to bring Awareness Toward Movement, to re-organize the body and re-pattern old habits anatomically using the skeleton with little muscular effort.
Old patterns formed via trauma, injury, holding stress and tension in the body are dissolved over time with Feldenkrais re-education.
Since childhood, we have all created physical habits, some which make us feel stuck. And, as time goes on these customs become so deep seated it affects your postures, often unconsciously, as they re-shaped us….not always for the best.
Re-writing how we sense, by paying attention to how we move, is the principle behind the Feldenkrais Method. Functional integration (personalized) and Awareness Toward Movement (group lessons) are 2-ways you will be invited to learn and practice with me.
Strategically, Feldenkrais Method use small and slow motions, developing sensory processing techniques ~ tools you will learn.
In the lessons, you will be guided verbally through structured sequences - sets of micro skeletal movements (not exercises), while adjusting to new ways of movements efficiently and more pleasant than conversational excercises. A.T.M. Emphasizes less muscular effort and more skeletal awareness to bring about changes in posture and comfort, mobility, stability, range of movement and best of all, reduction of pain.
Explaining the Feldenkrais Method is like explaining the taste of a kiwi, unless you eat it you won’t know what the tastes of the fruit is like. So who don’t you try it yourself……?
