Wow, 2022! Another year had passed! It is over 2 years the club has been closed due to the logistics of covid. We have decided to close the doors of the Timmins Boxing Club at the Confederation Sports Facility. We have been at this facility for the past 15 years, 5 years at the old Feldman timber building (now gone) and 3 years out of Schumacher. Over 12,000 participants have gone through our doors! We are grateful to everyone who supported us and are confident that all can throw a punch properly!
The bonds built through this club are truly PRICELESS and never forgotten like the words, “Come on now!”….”Don’t tell me what you can do, Show me!” and of course “Are you Ready!” If you remember any more, please post them!!
We will concentrating on our family, Pro Tackle and Timmins Adventure Tours for now. You never know what the future brings. The boxing club will take a break and see what new adventures lay ahead for this summer. On that note, stay active, have fun, “A body in motion, is not in commotion!” Keep your hands up, your hearts full, one day at a time!!
Box On, Shawn, Jen and the greatest tribe of all the TBC Members ❤️

The seasons are changing and families are getting back to some sort of routine. The boxing club is still trying to sort out logistics with this covid pandemic. At this time, there will not be a fall program offered . We thank you for your support for the past 20 years and your patience for the past 1 1/2 as we go through this transition! As Shawn would say, “A body in motion , stays out of commotion!”

HELLO!! to all our Obbies and Newbies (meaning previous and new members)
Well, changing times to say the least! At this time, the Timmins Boxing Club will not be offering a fall program. We are looking into the possibilities of offering a 6 week program Nov/Dec or a Jan 2021 start.
In the next few months I will be putting out a survey to find out the number of interested participants, what days you can work out,( as there will not be any options for days to attend as in the past) and pricing, as that will also be adjusted. This information will determine what the boxing club will be able to offer.
We are thankfull for all the support over the past 20 years and hope we can work through these transitional times.
BOX ON;) Jen and Shawn

To our BOXERS that boxed January to March 2020. We have put up some heavy bags at our summer location, Timmins Adventure Tours, 567 Pavillion Dr, off of Riverside Dr. The obstacle course will be set up. Want to work out this summer, come on by anytime, we are open 7 days a week and enjoy a self isolated workout at our very inviting outside location. This will be offered throughout July and August anytime. Please bring your own sanitizer, work gloves,(for the wire from hell) and boxing gloves. Please remember to social distance and hand pads and technical
work will not be permitted until Covid 19 restrictions loosen.
Looking forward to seeing you all sometime this summer!!

MAN O MAN! 2 of our rolling garbage totes and a recycling TOTE were stolen this week. Yes, imagine that. We got our garbage bins stolen!

Anyone see kayaks that look identical to the blue and white one I'm sitting in. Still looking for the two that were stolen from TIMMINS ADVENTURE TOURS.These kayaks were valued at $5000 and are ultralight plastic and would be very hard to paint . HERE is better news! Share the story! This fishing kayak(in picture on it's side)was stolen from me last season and was returned this spring to me by fisherman on the Mattagami River. Seems it floated out of the bush with the melting snow. Really happy to get this unit back. $1200 fishing kayaks are really hard to replace. This leaves me optimistic that good things are coming! SURVEILLANCE and alarms have been amped up at Timmins Adventure Tours

First paddle of the year! Family keeping active and safe.

I really hope everyone is staying SAFE! I am missing the action and friendship the club offers. A couple of calls have come from boxer's or their relatives asking how they or their loved ones (our members) will be compensated for partial memberships. Although valid questions I must be honest in saying I have been agitated by such questions so early into the closure. We are trying to process the significance of this closure on the long term viability of our 22 year long program.IT MAY BE QUITE SOME TIME BEFORE BOXER'S WANT TO SWEAT BY EACH OTHER!
LET'S KEEP IN MIND, we have never experienced this before so nobody has all the right solutions. We have tiredly searched for programs that will help us pay our rent or reinburse our clients and so far nothing is available for The Boxing Club. We have been in constant contact with our governing body(Boxing Ontario) and The City of Timmins our landlord and no assistance programs have been offered to date. The boxing club has always survived by attracting new members that help pay the bills on a month to month basis. A few times over the years we have been operating in the red and we have taken monies from our other businesses to assist.Offering our clients partial credits towards the next boxing session seems like a no brainer and could work for larger establishments with large bank accounts but in doing we will be opertaing in the red for many months if this is the action we are forced to take. At present we do not have that option of bailing out the boxing program as our other businesses are closed as well due to covid 19. These are the crasiest times many of us have ever experienced. My mom recently told me these are worse times than 2nd world war. During the war "we reconized the enemy and we were warned by alarms of their presence. We were allowed to mingle and show affection" she recalls. Do you have concerns or strategies? I am available to talk at (705)365-6856 during these closures. Although closed we can always be reached. I'm certain every household like ours need to protect a vunerable member of their family. Stay safe and be diligent. Many businesses will be very fortunate to make it through this closure but a second closure will devistate all but the mighty! Keep that in mind with all social distancing habits! Until we meet again , workout and visit the outdoors and go fishing! Spend quality time with family and work on that project that you've never had time for . Stay Safe! Box On, Shawn

Closed! How long will this closure be? How long will it be before the virus disappears? How long before people want to work out together again? STAY SAFE so we can answer these question together! Box On !
