Many times people get excited to start a fitness program and make a bunch of changes. They plan to do consistent workouts, follow a meal guide, increase their water intake, sleep longer, meditate, journal and the list goes on.
These are all great goals but the problem is it's too much at once. Most likely those individuals won't succeed because they become overwhelmed and end up falling off.
When speaking with my clients who may be struggling to stay committed, I encourage them to first focus on just 1 goal. For them that might be working out daily. Once they've built the discipline and are consistent, they no longer need to actively focus on that goal because momentum and routine take over. That is the sign they are ready to now focus on their second goal. This applies to all areas of life, not just fitness. Whatever area it is, try focusing on 1 goal at a time and you'll see results much sooner!
