Happy World Breastfeeding Week!
💕 The average breastfeeding parent spends 1800 hours feeding their child. That is more than a full time job in a year! The time, energy, and mental load of raising a child is unparalleled. I’m grateful to have been able to breastfeed both my girls - it has been one of the most powerful things I have ever done. Here’s to recognizing the challenge and beauty of breastfeeding.
💕 After scouring my phone for photos, I was reminded of the tears, frustration, pokes, prods and grabs. Breastfeeding in a ball gown. Feeding in restaurants. In the park. In the backseat of the car. On the couch, in bed, in the rocking chair. Feeding to sleep. Tickling the feet to keep them awake. Mastering the latch - popping off and on. Watching tv in the background (til I couldn’t, if you know you know). Getting AirPods so I could scroll and not distract from the feed. Pumping on the way home from weddings. All the memories came rushing back, and as hard as it was, I wouldn’t change a thing. Maybe I wish I took more photos…
Whether you’ve done it one day, one week, one month, or one year, you are doing amazing. 💪🏼

👋 Hi, I’m Shira, a certified child and infant sleep consultant!
🚨If you read this post and your first thought was "HOW???!!" then keep reading because today's advice is for you. Bedtime does NOT need to be stressful, whether it's with one child, two children, more, with your partner, without. I want to give you the tools to confidently put your kids to sleep every single night. 🚨
1️⃣ Check your own mood. Are you visibly stressed? Anxious? Annoyed? Feeling rushed? Any and all of these feelings are OK (uh hello, you are a parent!) but be mindful that the attitude you bring into bedtime effectively sets the scene for our kids. Your child will read your stress and anxiety, and that makes everything exponentially harder. Take a few minutes to yourself before you enter the room to breathe. Do what you need to do to shift your own energy.
2️⃣ Introduce a bedtime routine. It doesn't have to be fancy, but a set of steps that you follow every night so that both you and your child are mentally and physically prepared for bed. This can include a bath, brushing teeth, reading stories, singing songs, and of course, lots of cuddles! At the end of the routine, your child will know that it's sleep time.
3️⃣ Lastly, include your partner. If you find that bedtime usually falls on you, don't be shy to ask for help. Ensure that your partner feels confident going through the motions (with or without you!) to get your child ready for bed. Know that they may do things slightly differently, but by working together you build trust that your partner can get it done, even if you aren't home.
😎 If you are dealing with stress around bedtime and making some of these changes, DM me and we can book a support call! I will work with you on building your toolbox. 💪🏼

🌟I can hardly believe it’s been ONE WHOLE YEAR since I started Sweet Dreamers.
🌟While I am certainly no expert in how to run a business, I have learned a few things along the way that have made me a better mom, a more confident sleep consultant, and a bigger believer in myself. I trusted my instincts, like I say to my clients all the time ;)
🌟I am grateful to each one of you who has supported me in some way. By being here and being a part of this community, you are helping me grow. Each referral, each share, each comment and like is just one free thing you can do that helps me tremendously. Thank you.
🌟More tips coming your way… In the meantime, if you are looking for personalized coaching and support, I am your gal. Send me a DM! 🫶
