Tennis brain ➡️ Padel brain 🎾

Had such an incredible private lesson from Luis M. Colmenero at Fairgrounds Padel Toronto Fairgrounds Public Racket Club , and honestly, this was one of the best padel lessons I’ve had.

So many small adjustments completely changed the way I was hitting the ball:

Less swing. More control.
Contact out in front.
Start my volleys a little higher.
Get LOW when playing off the glass and follow the ball with the racket before sending it forward.

And maybe my biggest takeaway: harder isn’t always better.

Hit a hard ball into the glass and chances are it’s coming back just as hard. Sometimes taking a little pace off gives you more time, more control and a much better opportunity to build the point.

We also worked on creating more force on my backhand volley and learning how to direct the ball into different areas of the court instead of simply hitting it back.

I love lessons like this — when you walk onto the court thinking about how to hit the ball better and walk off understanding the game better.

Still very much learning the language of padel… but this session moved me forward in a big way. 🤍🎾

Thank you Fairgrounds Padel Toronto for such a great session. Already ready for the next one.
