This take on a slump buster from .river.guiding is great option when, as it often is, water is high and cold on opening weekend. Fish just can't resist the thought of a high calorie meal that they don't have to chase down. Materials available in shop!

Show Us Your Ties - The fly tying contest that wins you awesome prizes and fights off cabin fever at the same time! Prizes include awesome fly tying tools from brands you love for first and second place!
Here are the rules,… yes…there are rules.
1 – Any fly submitted must be your own creation
2 – One entry per person
3 – Take a photo of your creation.
Points will be awarded for among other things, photo quality, so snap a good one!
4 – Post it to social media
Get posting, tagging and hash tagging! The point of this contest is to inspire others to get creative at the vise, so go inspire them!
You must post to your Instagram or Facebook account and tag us in the photo using the hashtag and tag below:

Hashtag your photo and/or story with
…that’s “show us your flies” with no spaces and the # in front.
By following those steps while posting is how we will find and be notified that you have entered. If you don’t follow those steps, we just won’t know you’ve entered, so please follow them carefully!
The contest will run from January 5 - 15, 2023 at mid-night.
We will select two winners based on creativity, tying skill, and photo quality.
Winners will be contacted through social media to get their shipping address and pertinent information (yes, we will also cover shipping costs).
Here are some other bits of info (rules) you need to know:
· Canadian entries only – sorry folks that are not in Canada, but we’re keeping this one within our borders.
· Any photo that is entered into the contest may be shared on Drift Outfitters & Fly Shop Ltd.’s social media channels, newsletter and anywhere else we see fit.

We’ll be real honest, these flies take a while to tie. One dressed rear hook, 4 shanks, one main hook, essentially you’re tying 6 flies in one…. but, is it worth it? Yes… yes it is, an overwhelming yes.
