5 biggest lessons I’ve learned during my fitness journey.
1 - There’s no hack. Building an incredible physique takes time, periodization and patience. You can’t live off of 1200kcal and expect to burn fat, lose weight, look great and be healthy at the same time. There’s no magic pills, detox teas or 12-week challenges that will do it. For you to transform your body and mind for good, you gotta be all in for the long run. Hence why it’s crucial to take a sustainable approach.
2 - Progress over perfection. Focus on the small steps. Focus on being 1% better every day, and in a year, you’ll be 37% better. When you focus on a little bit better instead of trying to be perfect, you’ll be able to enjoy the small wins along the way and don’t risk completely falling off the wagon.
3 - You’ll probably lose some relationships along the way. It happens to me. It will be painful but trust me, those people were not your real friends. Some people will say they support you, but the minute you start getting serious and getting actual results, they all of a sudden start to mock you and make sarcastic jokes about your new lifestyle. Don’t worry, if you’re happy, keep on going!
4 - Not every day is going to perfect. S**t happens, and there will be sh*tty days, but this doesn’t mean you should quit. Just keep doing your best with what you can, one day at a time. Remember, it takes tiiiimeeee.
5 - Consistency is critical, and progress isn’t linear. There will be ups and downs, and that’s part of the process. What you do 80-90% of the time is what will give you the results you want.
