Golf performance starts with how your body moves. I teach that! https://skillest.com/@LaddsGolf

Don’t keep your head down. Try this instead.

Most golfers spend years trying to fix their swing. The problem was in their hands the whole time.

The grip is the only connection you have to the club. Every bit of force you generate from the ground up has to transfer through your hands. If that connection is off, it doesn’t matter how good your body moves , the clubface will betray you.

In this video I break down:

✅ Why a bad grip forces compensations throughout your entire swing
✅ The three things I check in every student’s grip before anything else
✅ How grip pressure is quietly costing you distance and consistency
✅ The lead hand position most amateurs get wrong

Fix your grip and half your swing problems disappear, not because your mechanics changed, but because the swing finally has something solid to work with.

Most golfers try to swing the club with their arms. That’s the problem.

Force precedes motion. The ground has to move before the club moves, that’s the sequence your body is designed for, and it’s the difference between effortless power and struggling at the range.

In this 3-minute breakdown I cover:

What force precedes motion actually means
Why your arms taking over is killing your contact and distance
How to feel the ground initiating your swing right now

This is the foundation of everything I teach. Get this right and the swing starts to make sense.

Try it and comment below what you feel.

Good drill for sequencing and hitting your spots

06/16/2026

Every high handicapper has heard it. Keep your head down. Stay down through the ball. Don’t peek.

But here’s the truth — you’re not lifting your head. Your body is just trying to stand up, and it’s supposed to.

Low handicappers and plus handicappers already do this naturally. They push into the ground, they stand tall through impact, and the arms drop low almost automatically, just like throwing a stone.

In this video I give my students one simple feel: just stand up, get as tall as you can through the ball. No shift cues, no arm positions, no force plate talk. Just stand up.

And they hit shots they’ve never hit before.

This drill is for the higher handicapper who’s been buried in swing tips and getting worse. Try it.

Here is the simplest way I have ever explained lag.

Picture a boat and a water skier going in a straight line at the same speed. The moment the boat slows down and turns, the skier whips out wide and picks up massive speed. That speed came from the change in direction of the boat, not from the skier trying harder.

Your golf club works exactly the same way.

The grip is the boat. The clubhead is the skier. When your hands slow down and rotate through impact, the clubhead whips through and multiplies speed. That is lag. That is where your distance comes from. Not from trying to swing harder, from letting the chain work the way it is supposed to.

Most golfers try to swing the clubhead faster by pushing harder with their hands. That is like the skier trying to paddle. Does not work.

Try thinking about your hands decelerating and rotating through impact instead of pushing. Tell me in the comments if it changes anything for you.

Trail Arm Feeling

06/09/2026

Here's something most golfers never think about.

Every swing photo you have ever seen is a still frame. A frozen moment of a club that was actually moving. But nobody swings through still frames.

When you try to place the club into positions you kill the momentum. You kill the sequence. You kill the speed. The swing becomes a series of stops instead of one flowing athletic motion.

The club flows through positions. It doesn't stop in them. The position at the top of your backswing, the position at impact, the position at the finish, those are just snapshots of something that never actually stopped moving.

Stop trying to hit positions. Let the club flow through them. The positions will be there because the sequence created them, not because you placed the club there.

Try it and tell me in the comments if your swing has ever felt mechanical and robotic. I guarantee positions are why.

Keep your head down. The most repeated golf tip of all time.

If it works for you, great. Genuinely. Keep doing it.

But if you're hitting fat shots, thin shots, chicken winging through impact, and wondering where your speed went, your head staying down might be the exact reason why.

Here's what happens. You force your head to stay fixed through impact. Your body can't rotate. Your lead side can't clear. Your lead leg can't brace. All the ground force you worked so hard to create has nowhere to go. So your arms flip through impact to compensate. Chicken wing. Fat shot. Thin shot. No speed.

The best ball strikers in the world let their head rotate naturally through the shot. Their eyes follow the ball because their body turned, not because they lifted their head early. That's a completely different thing.

There's a difference between keeping your head down and staying in your posture. One helps your swing. One kills it.

Watch the video and try the alternative. Tell me in the comments if you've ever been told to keep your head down and whether it helped or hurt.
