Sadly we say goodbye to a Negro Leagues veteran, Ron Teasley. We at Sports Celebrity Marketing had the pleasure of booking Ron over the years at a few events to share his great stories of his time in baseball. This picture was taken at a Negro Leagues tribute event with the Cleveland Indians and the Josh Gibson Foundation. Ron was joined at the event by other legends who have since departed - Ted Toles & Mudcat Grant - to meet with fans. Rest in peace our dear friend.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Cy Young Award winner Randy Jones. We always got great feedback when he would do an appearance for our company. Such a fun-loving man. Rest in peace my friend.

This photo of Randy was taken in Ohio during Cy Young Days, a festival held in Cy's hometown of Newcomerstown.

This one hurts. We have learned of the passing of Luis Sharpe, former St Louis/Arizona Cardinal. Luis had a very troubled past but then put his faith in the Lord and led an exemplary life. It was our honour on Father's Day 2018 to book him and his daughter Rebekah at a church in Cape May NJ to share about their reconciliation and how Luis had become an amazing father after years spent with drugs and prison. They used this singular event as a springboard to travel the country sharing together and helping others. We will miss you my dear friend. Until we meet again.

Sadly we have lost a great Canadian baseball player and outstanding medical doctor. Ron Taylor won 2 World Series and our business had the pleasure of booking him for appearances over the years.
But more than that, when my son was playing baseball, Dr Ron treated Josh's shoulder at Mt Sinai Hospital in Toronto. For that, we are forever grateful.
More than baseball, more than a doctor, Ron was a caring and compassionate man. Our prayers are with his family. https://www.si.com/mlb/mets/news/former-member-of-1969-new-york-mets-ron-taylor-passes-away-at-87-john9

One of the all-time great personalities of the game of baseball has left us. We got to know Fritz Peterson during the many times we booked him for appearances and he was one of the most wonderful, genuine people you could ever meet. Of course, he was know for the "family swap" with Mike Kekich when he was with the Yankees, but he was anything but the "flake" that he was presented as. Thanks for the laughs and heart-to-heart chats over the years Fritz. Our prayers go out to his family.

Today we mourn the loss of our friend Jerry Grote, catcher for the Miracle Mets of '69. Our prayers go out to his wife Cheryl and their family. Thank you for the events you did with us and the fans that you thrilled in doing them. Until we meet again

Put the St. Thomas Sports Spectacular on your list of events for next year so you don't miss it. Last night's great event raised funds for Special Olympics and Assisted Living Elgin. We are pleased to have had two of our athletes, Jamaal Charles (NFL) and Shayne Corson (NHL) at the head table. The evening is held every January and sports fans love it.
