Game 2 Recap
Swat Lay Down the Law 91-86 Against The North
In a game that saw 2 veteran MB teams go at it, Swat was able to take home the W over The North 91-86. Swat was able to capitalize on their stingy defensive effort by attacking in transition and holding parade to the foul line.
Game Changer
Despite being outrebounded (49-38) and taking less FG attempts, Swat were able to secure the win. Their ability to lock in defensively really helped in this one as they forced 19 turnovers. They also held a massive 27-10 advantage in FT attempts, allowing them to slow the game down and keep the lethal North transition game in check. The North simply can’t allow themselves to turn the ball over 19 teams, as that is a recipe for disaster for anyone. Their work on the glass tonight was great, but need to have a better shooting night at the line (30%) and from 3 (33%) to take down a team like Swat.
Top Performers
Denny Mcdonald led all scorers in this one, as he poured in 28 pts to go with 9 rb 5 stl and 2 blk for Swat. Aaron Duncan (21 pts 6 rb 6 ast 5 stl) and Shane Rowe (11 pts 11 rb 2 ast) also stood out for Swat. It was Steve Bucknell (12 pts 8 rb 4 ast 2 stl) and Vadim Halimov (14 pts 11 rb 3 ast) standing out in the loss for The North.
Up Next
Swat will look to keep their strong start rolling, as they take on GBD. The North will look to rebound after this loss and get their first win against a TBD team looking to do the same.

Recap from last weekes game 1 victory for SWAT.
THE EVIL EMPIRE STRIKES AGAIN!
OVERALL
SWAT takes care of business and secures the 97-89 win over 1 Matrix/Hundred. In the win, SWAT looked like the well-oiled machine that we are accustomed to seeing and it appears they haven't missed a beat. They were being patient on offense while playing tough defense with some throwback half-court traps. Denny McDonald led all scorers with 29 points, while adding 4 rebounds, 3 assists on 78% shooting. Also, Shane Rowe was an absolute beast clocking in with 23 points and 15 rebounds in the victory.
For 1 Matrix/Hundred, they started the game with several easy baskets courtesy of Kamaka, Williams, and Thompson. But, once SWAT applied the pressure defensively a lot of the high percentage and easy looks started to rim in and out for them. Shooting Specialist Sanel Sehic came off the bench and gave an extra lift as he caught fire from beyond the arc. He finished with 21 points (7 made 3PT's). Shevon Thompson had an impressive game posting 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists on 67% FG in the loss.
The game went back and forth but the experience of SWAT late in the game proved to be one of the main differences as each player on the floor knew their role and what they had to do to ensure the victory. Hopefully, Capt. McNeilly can get the troops focused while playing with a greater sense of urgency especially, late in the game. Also, the scorers on this squad need to do a better job at playing through physicality while adjusting to marginal contact. Great work to both sides on competing and all the best next week!
