Why is Cuban salsa called Casino? ✨

The name comes from Casino Deportivo in Havana, where dancers gathered to enjoy music and practice new moves. Even Rueda de Casino gets its name from the circle formation, like a roulette wheel.

Let’s break down Cuban dance styles! 💃✨

Afro-Cuban: This is a big umbrella term! It is deeply rooted in Africa and shows off our spirit and history.

Son: A mix of Spanish and African culture. It is a genuine style that comes straight from Cuba.

Casino: This is the "baby" of Son! It grew from that rhythm to become the fun style we love today.
