We are proud to have sponsored a team in the Hockey Helps the Homeless GTA Women’s tournament this month. Our Skate Sister AAA players absolutely killed it with their efforts on ice and fundraising for this cause. Way to go Sisters!

Yesterday hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the life of Eric “Moose” Anweiler. Eric was the Manager of the North Toronto Arena for 40 years and in that time he touched the lives of so many kids and families in our community. With great humour, a tough but fair approach and a generosity of spirit, Eric made North Toronto the most special and best run arena in the city. NHL greats, friends and family all spoke of his great impact on their lives. Not a dry eye in the arena when we heard his awesome voice message for the last time. I am eternally grateful to Eric for his support and friendship over the last 15 years as he provided a warm and welcoming home for our Skate Sister community. Gone too soon and never forgotten. Rest in peace, Eric.

In other hockey news… another season ended yesterday. This one with a lot of smiles and happy players… and a cup. Congrats to Team Green and to all the amazing Skate Sisters!
