happy (hoppy?) Easter!
It's cool ... it's Celtic ... it's Ceilidh! Ceilidh ... What's that? Dances with intriguing names like "Marmalade Sandwich" and "The Flying Scotsman"!
A ceilidh (say "KAY LEE"), or ceili to the Irish, is a social gathering - a dance party!- common throughout Scotland and Ireland...
Kids 4+ and grownups have fun dancing together to the sound of Irish flutes + fiddles or the skirl of the bagpipes. Traditional dances that are easy to learn even for the youngest dancers include circle and sets, reels, polkas, and more. Our home class takes place on

happy st. david’s day! if we weren't in the middle of a pandemic, we’d be having ceilidh fun with various welsh folk dances like Ffaniglen or cylch y cymry - quick and clappy, just right for celebrating!

was part of the virtual Burns Night celebration of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society today (249 tuning in!) fantastic music and dancing and lots of invitations to “roll up the carpet and dance!” a far cry from Burns Nights in years gone by ... but these are the times. fun!
