Today the CHRHF is at Grand River Raceway for Industry Day. In addition to the Battle of the Belles and The Battle of Waterloo, there will be two races named after significant Hall of Fame members, with strong connections to Grand River...Dr. Ted Clarke and Somebeachsomewhere.

Randy Waples, born in Ontario on July 31, 1965, retired as the all-time leading money-winning driver of races held in Canada, sporting more than 6,600 wins and $131 million. The son of Hall of Fame driver Ron Waples, Randy is perhaps best known as the driver of Hall of Fame trotter San Pail. In 2021, Randy was inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026.
