As we watch with horror the unprecedented emergency in Israel, we are also closely monitoring the security situation in Toronto. We have received inquiries from the community and want to share that UJA Community Security is liaising with law enforcement as well as Jewish institutions to coordinate security measures. This is being done as a precaution and not in response to any specific threat.
On Monday at 7:00 PM at Mel Lastman Square, we are holding a solidarity rally to mobilize our entire community and allies to take meaningful action to show our support for the people of Israel. We'll need you there - stay tuned for details.
We ask for the community to exercise healthy vigilance over the weekend. If you see something, please say something. In an emergency call 911. When safe, please call UJA Community Security’s 24/7 hotline at 416-635-5600.
Our policy is to avoid posting on Shabbat except during emergencies. We are shocked and saddened that today is one of those days. Please pray for the safety of Israelis.
