Outdoor Training July & Aug 2022

We are coming back this summer. At the moment we are at the planning stages. It is our goal to be ready by July.

Summer 2022 is about Equipment use and play.

For these sessions you will need a partner to play with (sibling, parent, friend, anyone your age or older), and a pair of striking targets (Aprox $45) for the pair of you. If you need to buy equipment, these targets can be purchased from your coach on the first day of your training.

visit the website www.karateschool.ca for registration details.

Dear Clients and Friends,

On March 14, 2020, we were mandated to temporarily close our doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been a very nervous and uncertain time for all of us since then.
After much deliberation over these past several months, I have made the difficult decision to close our Leslieville location for now.

In my few years of operation, I have always valued your safety and well-being as our top priority and will continue to do so. Karate Canada, with government guidance around safety protocols and social distancing, have made a “return to play plan” which the provincial organisations are following. This will allow us to open up again in the future with certain restrictions and safety precautions in place with guidance from the Ontario Karate Federation. However, in order for us to safely implement those measures, we will need a different space for our dojo.

We have approximately 40 families in our community and I am thinking of you all. I hope to stay in touch during our hiatus - questions and updates are always welcome!

I will share re-opening plans once I have found a new space and it is safe to proceed. It is my hope and intention that I can resume classes at a location in this same vicinity soon.
To our families and customers, I extend sincere and heartfelt appreciation. It has been my pleasure to serve you in our community.

Thank you for choosing karate!

Sincerely,
Andrew

The Leslieville Karate School will be suspending classes starting today, March 16.

With the growing concerns over the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), we are closing to support the social distancing efforts being implemented across Canada to minimize the spread of the virus.

We will keep you posted as the situation evolves, and will resume in-person classes as soon as we can.

We understand concerns about how to keep busy during this challenging time, so please stay tuned for online resources, e-classes, and exercises that your family can do from home.

Thank you for your understanding.

With the Covid-19 virus news right now, I wanted to touch base with everyone about our response as the Leslieville Karate School.

First and foremost, we will remain open and fully operational at this time. If word from Health Canada or any other Authority advises otherwise, we will respond and update accordingly.
That said, we are increasing the frequency of our regular daily cleaning protocols to disinfect surfaces, mats, etc. as extra precautions.

We also ask that our members and families take these simple steps (the same we all should take during any flu season) as precautions:
1. Wash hands often and thoroughly with soap and water (or hand sanitizer if needed)
2. Avoid touching your mouth, nose, and eyes
3. Most importantly, if you aren't feeling well please stay home!
4. If you've been traveling internationally, please follow the Health Canada's guidelines for risk assessment and self-imposed quarantine guidelines.

Our risk in Ontario is quite low, and it is far more likely that you will have a cold virus or other flu virus than Covid-19, but just as an extra precaution, even if you believe you just have mild cold symptoms please stay home until you are fully recovered – this is for adult students, parents, and kids alike.

As a small community business, we are asking for your continued support as we all navigate these uncharted waters. In the event that there are prolonged closures, we will be providing online videos with exercises and activities for our students to do at home on their own, with their parents or siblings, etc, to make the best of the time that we may have to spend in our homes. Any cancelled classes will be happily made up to the best of our ability.

We appreciate your support and look forward to great progress for everyone in 2020!
