The Blue Jays led 2-0 early, but the Tigers chipped away and walked it off in the 9th at Comerica Park.
Trey Yesavage gave Toronto a solid start with 6 strikeouts across 6 innings. Jeff Hoffman allowed two hits in the ninth, including the run that ended it.
The road trip continues tomorrow.

Big week ahead for the Blue Jays. đź‘€
Toronto heads into a seven-game road trip with three against the Tigers and four against the Yankees in New York.
The Jays sit at 19-24, just 2.0 games back of an AL Wild Card spot, and are coming off a series against Tampa Bay where they showed plenty of fight with multiple comeback performances.

• Kazuma Okamoto: 10 HR, 27 RBI and .786 OPS

The FIFA World Cup Final is getting a halftime show for the first time ever.
Madonna, Shakira and BTS will headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show at MetLife Stadium on July 19, 2026.
The show will be produced by Global Citizen, with Chris Martin helping curate the event.
Beyond the music, the halftime show will also support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund

With one month to go until the first FIFA World Cup match in Toronto, voices across Canadian soccer believe the tournament could change the sport in the country forever.
Canada Soccer President spoke about football’s massive growth across Canada, saying the sport has now surpassed hockey in participation and expects the World Cup to push the game even further forward.
Canadian legend also highlighted the impact the tournament could have on both the men’s and women’s game, especially with the continued rise of professional sports in Toronto.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State for Sport avankoeverden said the excitement is already building in both Toronto and Vancouver as Canada prepares to welcome the world next month.
