Celebrate Black History Month

The domestic worker played an important role in the advancement of people of colour in Canada and the US.

Shining shoes and cleaning homes were jobs that was available to black people. Hence my second slide. As much as this was meant to be demeaning work it provided a means to an ends. I see a man who is willing to do whatever it takes to feed his family and put his kids through school. So perhaps the next generation will be business men, lawyers or doctors.

Great things have humble beginnings!

Blundstones are the shoes of the day. Sent to us by a dry cleaner we service for one of their customers. I was pleasantly surprised at how they turned out. Inside had the equivalent of an entire cat of hair. This boot reminds, of the importance of leather conditioning. Good leather that gets conditioned can last a very long time.

Not very dirty to begin with but he confessed to being very particular. The shoe design allows for dirt to build up in the crevices of the jagged edges. Also the mid-sole had normal dirt from use and bluish smudge on the toe of the right shoe.

Our pleasure to get these back to Gavin's standard for that fresh out-of the-box look!
