πŸ’ NTC Drill of the Month: Lateral Lunges πŸ’

Strong lateral movement is essential in hockey and this month’s NTC Drill of the Month focuses on building exactly that.

This lateral lunge variation helps athletes:
βœ… Improve edge control
βœ… Build explosive acceleration
βœ… Develop lower-body strength for puck battles
βœ… Strengthen hips and groin muscles to help reduce injury risk

Big thanks to for continuing to provide great development content for our players and families each month.

πŸ† Individual Community Contribution Award πŸ†

Please join us in congratulating Dylan Garces on being named this year’s Individual Community Contribution Award recipient. πŸ‘

Dylan truly represents the very best of what it means to be a Humber Valley Shark. On the ice, he brings relentless effort, dedication, and a team-first mindset to every shift. But it’s what he does beyond the game that sets him apart.

A constant source of positivity, Dylan lifts his teammates, keeps the energy high, and leads with kindness and respect. He’s the player who notices when someone needs support and steps up without hesitation. His leadership comes not from volume, but from genuine care for those around him.

Dylan’s impact extends beyond his own team. Through volunteering at Humber Valley goalie clinics he’s shown a level of selflessness and community spirit well beyond his years.

In recognition of his incredible contributions, Dylan is the recipient of a $1,000 grant and a fully custom hockey stick, generously provided by our Community Awards sponsor, Duke’s Source for Sports. πŸ’

Dylan, your character, generosity, and commitment to others make you a role model in every sense. We are incredibly proud to have you as part of the Humber Valley family. πŸ’™
