To our Skijor community,

We want to share an important update regarding the future of Skijor at Banff SnowDays.

After careful consideration, Banff and Lake Louise Tourism’s Board of Directors made the difficult decision that Banff will no longer serve as the host location for our skijoring event. We are incredibly grateful for the support, enthusiasm and passion shown by our fans, athletes, horses, volunteers, Parks Canada, and the Town of Banff over the years.

Together we created unforgettable moments highlighting the unique combination of horsemanship, athleticism and winter sport in one of the world’s most iconic mountain settings. The memories made in Banff will remain a cherished part of our history.

We understand this news may be disappointing to many who have made Banff Skijor an annual tradition of bucket list item. We share that sentiment and thank you for helping build such a vibrant and dedicated community.

Our commitment to skijoring remains as strong as ever. Stay tuned for announcements on our 2027 season and MORE SKIJOR!
