✂️🐴 Fall Clipping Clinic & Badge Opportunity! 🐴✂️

With fall in full swing and winter right around the corner, it’s clipping season! Clipping helps our horses dry off much faster after a workout so they stay comfortable.

Nicole and Colleen are combining clipping prep with the Advanced Horsemanship Badge 5.3 (Clipping & Braiding)! 🏅

📅 Clinic Details:

When: Sunday, October 25th | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM (plus extra time if needed)

Focus: Clipping (Braiding will be covered on a separate day!)

What We’ll Cover: Reasons for clipping, safety, equipment, and identifying different clip styles (full, hunter, blanket, trace, and belly/gullet).

Hands-on Learning: Our older members will help guide you through the badge info and show you how to clip your own pony or horse safely! We'll have demo horses to practice on (including Rocky!).

💡 What to Bring:
If you have clippers, please bring them along!

Thinking of buying? Wahl KM10 or KM10+ are great options (available at Greenhawk, Wahl Canada, or Amazon) along with a Wahl #10 blade, ShowSheen, and blade cleaner.

Even if your horse or pony is already clipped before the 25th, please join us for a fun afternoon of learning and hands-on practice!

🎃 October News & Upcoming Events! 🐴

Hello SPC Members! Springbank Pony Club hopes the start back to school and lessons has gone smoothly for everyone! We have two exciting regional events coming up this month, plus a clinic in the works:

👻 1. Regional Halloween Spooktacular Fun Show
- Date & Time: Saturday, October 31 | 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM
- Location: Cochrane Ag Centre
- Entry Fee: $20
- Details: Celebrate the season with jumping &
obstacle relays, a costume contest, team games, and hobby horse fun! You can participate with your horse, pony, or hobby horse. Don't forget your horse's costume and bring a lunch!
(Please check with coaches before signing up)

🏆 2. Royal West Show Jumping Event thanks to the team at Rocky Mountain Show Jumping
- Dates: October 14–24
- Location: Calgary Stampede Grounds
- Cost: Free admission (parking fees apply)
- Pony Club Course Walk: They are inviting Pony Club out for a course walk with an Official, Professional Coach, or rider! Date TBD, we’ll keep you posted.

🏇 3. Upcoming Clinic
- We are currently planning a clinic for October or November now that everyone is settled back into their routines. Details to follow soon!
